Roster spots
Updated: Linebacker Rashad Jeanty and safety Ethan Kilmer were not eligible for PUP. Jeanty did practice in training camp. Kilmer apparently practiced once before aggravating a knee injury. In Marvin Lewis' first training camp news conference, he did not mention Kilmer or Jeanty as going on active PUP. My apologies for the error.
The Bengals will play their fifth game in Week 6 of the NFL season Sunday.
Running back Chris Perry (ankle) will be eligible to return to practice from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list Monday. The Bengals have a three-week window to decide what to do about a roster spot for Perry. Given their situation at running back, the Bengals might play Perry quickly. He did not occupy a roster spot in the time he was on PUP.
Perry has been working out on the sideline. He has had his ankles taped and has been wearing cleats.

Kilmer and Jeanty were not eligible for the PUP list, as they had participated in training camp. They had to be placed on the active roster or IR after the last pre-season game.
Jeanty practiced and played in the preseason. He would have had to go on IR for there to be an extra spot....

I think you should point out that Kilmer and Jeanty were not eligible for the PUP list because they participated in practice. I have heard quite a bit of complaining about the mismanagement of the roster, which I can agree with to a point, but they are using the "PUP" list as a place where these guys should be when they couldn't be put there.
Other than that, thanks for the information.
