Edwards: QB Huard to start

Kansas City quarterback Damon Huard, who injured his right (throwing) shoulder in the loss Sunday to Jacksonville, practiced fully Wednesday and took all the reps, coach Herm Edwards said this afternoon.

Huard will start Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium against the Bengals.

"Yeah, I mean as long as we don’t have a setback," Edwards said. "That’s what it looks like to me right now."

In relief of the injured Trent Green last year in the opener, a 23-10 Bengals victory at Kansas City, Huard was 12-for-20 passing for 140 yards and one touchdown.

No QB in his right mind would sit the week they play the Bengals. I hear Joe Montana is signing with the 49ers again for their December 15th matchup.

The Bengals D managed to make Derek Anderson look like Dan Marino, so I doubt Huard will have much trouble. I'd start if I were him too.

The time to trade our hanging “Chad” is here. No, I do not want draft choices for a proven product; I want two, count’em, two starting defensive players under the age of 27. Carson will get over it, the team will sleep better and the defense will, well any improvement is appreciated. I want to trade my top two 2008 draft choices for an honest to goodness corner-back who can hit like truck and run like, well, someone crossing the southern border at night. A long time ago Bob Trumpy said “parts is parts” when referring to the NFL. The team that has the best parts wins (that includes coaching parts). The entertainment business demands a proved product year after year (Frank S., Elvis, Beatles, Sarah V, etc) if the Bengals were a rock group they would not make it past the try-outs for “American Idol”. Brutal but true. I have written that 6-10 will be the record of 2007 version of the Bengals and after KC many of you loyal, faithful, hopeful ticket holdes will see the truth. If you want winning teams either come up with the money to buy out the Browns or settle for what you have, because it is what it is.

Nice message Gmirones... I doubt anybody really understood where your angle of attack was coming from.
Obviously you're a frustrated fan who is upset the Bengals aren't 4-0 at this point in the season. But given the circumstances, (injuries, new signings, suspensions, tough opponents) I'd say we're actually in decent shape. Believe me, I'd love to be 4-0 at this point, but we had 2 active linebackers last game.... 2... active.... linebackers. Our starting RB and our second string were both out last game. A good group of guys are serving suspensions, and we've played, whether you want to believe it or not, 4 really tough teams. Please don't try to tell me that divisional games are ever a walk in the park. So the first quarter is over and we're finally getting healthy again, we'll have some guys coming off suspensions soon, our new signings will mature week by week, and lastly our schedule is alot lighter from here on out.
So if you're mad that we aren't winning now, that's fine, just keep your pissy pants attitude to yourself. Either support your team or get a new one. And when we make the playoffs.... I'll be expecting those tickets from ya since you're obviously done with this season.

Dear MB (Mike Brown no doubt);
Thanks for your insights and candor. It is obvious that you have forgotten that this same group of healthy and active people were involved in the San Diego and Atlanta fiascos and could not win 1 of the last 3 games with the playoffs on the line.
"We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."
~ Aristotle
Sorry about the tickets but somebody else has already claimed them.
