Super pick: Perfect Patriots

I see New England winning its fourth Super Bowl in seven years. Final: Patriots 38, Giants 24. Too much offense, even against a good New York defense.

My advance stories, including Edge breakdown, will be in the Sunday Enquirer.

Because a couple of people asked, I did not cover the Super Bowl this year for the first time since taking the Bengals/NFL beat in 2000. The trip was eliminated by Enquirer editors.

At least you don't work for Clear Channel. They would just eliminate your job.

typical cincinnati garbage. now that the enquirer has eliminated the post....they have no competition and no motivation to make their product any better than it was(n't) before.

nice work editors. cheapskates.

although, with my delivery man, i only had a 50/50 shot at actually having the paper delivered anyways. that's why i cancelled it.

Yeah, well i think the giants will win. 6 trillion - 3.

Giants control the ball, because Patriots can't stop their running game...Jacobs and Bradshaw combine for more than 150 yards rushing...Randy Moss is a non-factor, because Brady doesn't have enough time in the pocket to throw deep...Welker and Faulk are the leading receivers for the Pats...

Giants 23, Patriots 21..you read it here first.

Mark

It really would be nice if one time you would pick a score from a game that did not fall excactly on the point spread. Pretty sure you go with the "The guys in Vegas know more than me so I will just write what they think" strategy. I chuckle to myself everytime I read your Bengals predicition, and can't help but do the same with the super bowl, right on the line, guess.

I don't get it Mark. The editors want to save money by not sending you to the Super Bowl, but for some reason think there is value in paying Skinner for his opinion. Who gives a flip what Skinner thinks?

So the Enquirer sent no one?

That's incredible - must've learned that from the Bengals Scout Team! Hey just record on your VCR & replay as often as necessary.

glad they didn't send you with that pick. Did you really think the Pats would score 38 after watching the Giants (or the Pats for that matter) for the last couple of week? I generally think you do a good job, but, wow, I should have pursued a career in sports analysis...
