Palmers could be 3rd set of Bengals brothers

Carson Palmer and younger brother Jordan Palmer are trying to be the first set of quarterback brothers on the same team in the same NFL season in the Super Bowl era, according to Elias Sports Bureau.
Jordan Palmer signed a two-year contract today with the Bengals. Carson is the four-year starting quarterback, a former Heisman Trophy winner and the highest-paid player on the team.
Ty and Koy Detmer both were with the 1997 Eagles, though Koy was on the injured reserve list and not on the active, 53-man roster.
Elias said dozens of brother combinations have been on the same team in the same season. The most recent was 2007 with nose tackle Remi Ayodele and linebacker Akin Ayodele in Dallas.
The Palmers could be the third set brothers to play for the Bengals in the same season. Running back Archie Griffin and cornerback Ray Griffin were with the Bengals from 1978-83. Defensive end Ross Browner and safety Jim Browner were with the Bengals in 1979 and 1980.
The Griffins both played at Ohio State. The Browners both were from Notre Dame. Carson Palmer played at Southern Cal. Jordan Palmer played at Texas-El Paso.

I just can't see this being any good for the Bengals. A third string QB is only here to get cut. I can only see this a blowing up in the Bengals face if Jordan get cut and Carson gets upset!

Wouldnt it have been cooler if people considered you an Orange Journalist?
Carson/Jordan could be a good thing, could be a bad thing. I dont know. I would like to believe i know alot about football but i cant really judge until I see it!
YES !!! Pretty Good, and Welcome Jordan...
Bengals need to play with a friendship / family spirit...
Chad "selfish" Johnson, you have nothing else to do right here...
Wow, I've spent the better part of what? A decade? Two decades? Absolutely lambasting and bashing the idiots who own and run the Bengals. Finally, a very shrewd move that might not be the most obvious. Nice insurance for Carson especially since the Bengals could have drafted Brady Quinn for the future last year--of course that would have meant that the future would shortly NOT have been Carson.
If CP has another year like 07, or gets hurt again, the Bengals need some decent backup talent. Who better to ride the bench for a few years? Third string, yeah, okay, maybe he doesn't make the team. But it's creative and CP's bro is talented.
And we just don't see enough talent being signed here. Mostly it's drafted talent going on IR or going bust or talent leaving to go play in the Super Bowl or playoffs a few years later.
Glad to have 2 x Palmer here, hope they're both here a long time.
I was going to post a comment ,but i'm tired of hearing about million dollar football players complaining about no respect. CJ should be happy to be making the money considering most college players never see a pro camp. My take is anyone making a living as a pro player owes the owners and not the other way around. If any of us working people took CJ track we would be fired not looking for a trade. I hope you get your wish CJ and then I hope you fall flat on your face.
Mark,
When do we get "Coaching Analysis", "Scouting Analysis" and "Front Office Analysis"??
That is a fantastic idea. Coaching, Scouting, and Front Office Analysis would be great. Hey, lets throw in Medical Staff while we are at it. I don't know if anybody remembers this running back we had name Chris Perry and one of our tackles named Willie Anderson. For some reason they always seek second opinions and when they did a players survey of the ratings the players gave there medical staff the Bengals where the lowest by a very large margin.
Yeah, I agree. If we are analyzing the team then we should analize all the important factors. You know unless this really is a players league -in which i would ask the paper to stop hyping anything about coaches because they don't matter. Mark, I believe a Coaching, Scouting, and Front Office Analysis is Essential. Please at least give us your own opinion.
I dont like nepotism and never have. It's uncomfortable for a lot of people. It causes morale issues more than not and Cincinnati does not need another issue. It does not sound like morale is that great there without this. Nope, dont like it.
Trade Chad Johnson, and pick up Santana and Sinorice Moss...
The medical and training staffs definitely need to be evaluated too. We have far too many conditioning injuries (hamstring, groin), and far too many injuries that just don't get better (Willie, Levi, Perry, Perry, Brooks, etc.). I think Doc Hollywood likes the TV/radio gig more than he likes to study current rehab methods.
Forget the Palmers, what about Chad?
Is he happy today?
Demanding a trade? A raise?
Otherwise acting up/being a cancer? How dare he.
Where is today's headline/link?
Let's hope Chad doesn't have a brother.
Chad 85 needs to shut his mouth. 98% of this country goes to work every day not enjoying their employer & they do their job. 85 needs to perform, pick up his big pay check & shut up. Oh yeah, fire Marvin he is an awful motivator. His record speaks for itself.
This is for "not a doctor, but"
Doc Hollywood works for the Reds, not the Bengals......

Post of the month. (let's hope Chad doesn't have a brother).
Still laughing...
Maybe we should name the team after Chad: the Cincinnati Cancers?
What an absolute jerk. When he learns to run routes and stop dropping balls thrown right to him (not that Carson's season of overthrows helped that much), then maybe he can run his mouth.
I'd love to be the head coach for a year. Lewis is an absolute pansy. I'd not only have Chad silenced but obedient.
Or benched, except for special teams, the kickOFF team.
Until we get a real hard-ass disciplinarian coach these spoiled over-rated egomaniac players will keep failing to think win-first, team-first, me-second.
anon 12:09,
Chad's cousin is Keyshawn Johnson. Maybe Bengals can sign him up. he was a cancer too with the Jets. Must run in the family.
