Super Bowl standings
In putting together some Super Bowl advance material for the Sunday Enquirer, I ran across the composite Super Bowl standings in the NFL Record & Fact Book. The Bengals are 0-2 but credit them for getting there twice. Both times they were in the game.
Enjoy the game Sunday night.
Again, my pick is New England 38, New York 24.
(And, in spite of what a reader accused me of on this blog, I have no idea what the spread is.) I went by what the teams scored on average during the regular season and the feel of their regular-season game, won 38-35 by the Patriots. The week off will help New England and hurt New York. The mild Arizona weather conditions figure to help the Patriots' high-powered pass offense. Just my opinion. That's why they play the game.
The list

Mark--- (a lil' reader feedback)Excellent piece today on Pollack. I am not one of your (sometime) moronic critics that checks in on a daily basis, but I do agree with a bit of their mantra and it pertains to today's article or better put, what was in today's article. You article was reinforced with you opinion more than it usually is, and I know that is a fine line----- but it was refreshing.
(FOR The BLOG)
You can't help but to root for number 99---- heck, the Bengals need defense so bad that I am willing to give Thurman a third chance. But reality and "common sense" should tell everyone, "tooooooo much risk".
All the more reason to try and get a second round pick or even try to move up 3-5 spots in the first round with a trade of Chad Johnson (ex.- we package our #9 pick and CJ, for the 5th pick.). We have 10 or 11 picks in the draft this year---- we better make the best of them and Sedrick Ellis looked like a top 5 pick in last week's Senior Bowl.
can you comment on the conditioning of Odell?
some discussions say he looks fit - others say he looks heavy.
what have you seen?
Folks: I would like to see a trade for 85 if we get better not worse! Chad is correct when he infers we are going the wrong direction!! Without a major change of direction (m.L.)we may be terrible next yr.!!
Mark: If you added opinion today...good for you! I do agree with others that feel you should be more aggresive...take a stand here or there. It will create intrest & lively debate. If you ask the tough questions of the coaches & GMs you will be more respected!! ALL THE BEST.....COACH
Mark, just commenting on this post because it's your most recent one. Any thoughts on Mortensen's article?
This was inevitable the moment he linked up with Rosenhaus. A perfect enabler for such a personality.
Realistically, what can they even get for him? Or are they just in the realm of having to cut him and get nothing? That'd be tragic.
