More Bengals visits

The Bengals have just confirmed a visit by Browns free agent defensive tackle Ethan Kelley. He is 28 and played college ball at Baylor. He was originally a seventh-round pick by the Patriots in 2003.

Can we please cut John Thorton. He's like having nobody lined up at DT, If this guy can stay on his feet and not get knocked 5yd's back on contact he will be an upgrade.. Stop wastefull spending, cut thorton!!!

Those Brown/Blackburn genuises are actively interviewing other teams' culls. Maybe they will have read the CBA or hired competent counsel to have read it before they screw up again. If they were really gutsy, and could avoid screwing it up, they would trade their #1 pick and their #3 to Miami for Jaon Taylor!

1:29 PM anonymous...yes you are right...get rid of first and third picks for a 35 yr. old in the twilight of his career. that is genius. i love the bengals, but we have some dumb fans.

Sign him to minimum if anything at all. He is most likely a dud if he hasn't caught on by 28.

I dont think i would go as far as trying to pick up jason taylor because our biggest need is still DT. We should take at least one more look at robertson. if we must pay out the last two years of his contract then that may not be worth it. I would like to see if the jets release him at any point. (maybe cleveland will steal him before we get the chance though) if they do then we will talk to him about it again. (i would never suggest that anyone take my advice but that is my opinion)

Thorton would be nice to have as a back up but no more than that. Same with Peko. Next to a good DT they might not be so bad though.

Nothing like wasting a 1st & 3rd round pick on someone that will be 34 years old this season.

I can agree that John Thorton can go, but he's a solid back-up so I think he should probably stay (he beats the alternative). As far as the Browns/Blackburns go, I have to defend the fact that they were trying to not waste $1 million dollars on someone who fails a physical. I have to put that on the NFL for not approving the deal, because why should the Bengals trade for a guy, pay him a million bucks, and then find out he's not healthy and he goes back to the Lions after we paid him his roster bonus? I agree, there should be some research done there, but at the same time that was smart business. Then anon 1:29 would be complaining we wasted money.

Either way, this cat may or may not be worth it, at 338lbs and if he's healthy at least he can stand in someone's way while a lineback runs around...Get him if it's cheap, don't spend big (i.e. shaun smith, on a career back up)

Trading a #9 pick and the third round pick for Jason Taylor would be illegal in most states because it would considred aggirvated robbery. That makes no sense, I agree with everyone else that he's too old, out of his prime and that would rank right up there with passing on McNabb and Culpepper for Akili Smith. I wouldn't put it past the owners, but I think that Marvin wouldn't let that happen (I hope not at least).

We need a DT and I think Robertson could be a good fit, but not at the dollar amount. He's much like Justin Smith in that respect, you have to prove you're worth the big money before you get it from any team, especially here.

Lets see, maybe Mikey B, Katie, and Troy will give us something to be excited about, you never know. (I'm not holding my breath)! I'm just happy they are at least out there and signed Odom and SEEM to be making an effort...more has to be done though, we all know that!

Who Dey!

nick, we did not pass on McNabb, he went ahead of Akillme. We did pass on Edge, Champ, Tory Holt, Kearse, Culpepper and a bunch of other Pro Bowlers though....
