Ahmad Brooks to injured reserve
Linebacker Ahmad Brooks, who has not played since Week 2 at Cleveland, will have surgery next week on his groin/abdominal injury and was placed today on the season-ending injured reserve list.
The Bengals signed tight end Nate Lawrie off the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
In addition, the Bengals have signed two players to their practice squad in the past 24 hours: tight end Cooper Wallace and wide receiver Skyler Green. Wallace was with the Tennessee Titans in training camp, and Green was waived Monday by the Bengals; he had played in seven games with the team but was inactive Sunday at Buffalo.

Mark - this is truly the year of the injured Bengal. More this year than any I can remember. That said - Pollack is still on PUP and I'd think he has to be dealt with soon, just as Chris Perry is now being dealt with - but there's been tons of news on Perry and none on Pollack...tho I personally do not expect him back this or any year. Have you heard what's going on?
This is the bigger story than the Henry tiff, though nobody will care. Like Perry last year - once again the medical staff and whoever it is who makes personnel decisions for the Bengals has blown another decision. Now Brooks will have trouble making back in time for next Spring practice. Wouldn't it have been nice to have Kevin Walter as the 3rd receiver, Brian Simmons as middle linebacker, and Eric Steinbach on the line this year? There is a lot of other dead weight on this team that could have been cut to keep actual productive players. The blame for this lost season sits squarely on management's shoulders.
Either way this has to be an indication that the training staff STINKS! If the injury was really that bad that it required surgery in the first place, he should have been on IR and had the surgery a month ago. Otherwise, they rushed him back and he injured his groin more severly than initially, now requiring the surgery. Either way, the medical staff BLEW it! AGAIN!!!
