Baltimore Sun on Lewis, Bengals

Marvin Lewis will go back to Baltimore this weekend, where the Bengals head coach came to national reknown as the Super Bowl-winning defensive coordinator of the Ravens. Here are a couple of excerpts from The Baltimore Sun following the Bengals' latest loss, 33-21, at Buffalo:

-- How bad are the Cincinnati Bengals? They gave up 295 passing yards to J.P. Losman and 153
rushing yards to Marshawn Lynch in a 33-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills that should signal
another rebuilding era in Cincinnati. Even coach Marvin Lewis might not be safe after this
collapse.

-- Marvin Lewis is going to make somebody a heck of a defensive coordinator next year. Maybe
the Ravens can rehire him once Rex Ryan gets a head coaching gig. Lewis' time is almost up
in Cincinnati. The Bengals can't play defense and can't follow the rules, on or off the
field. They actually committed three penalties on one play yesterday – while punting.
They're the only team that could be off-sides during the anthem.

I think it is funny that the Ravens fishwrap is taking shots at the Bengals players behavior, I guess the editor forgot about Ray Ray's bloody clothes in his hotel room? How bad are the Beangals? The Ravens Offence actualy gave us hope that this D could play this year, so the question is how bad is the Ravens offence?

It just occurred to me that maybe the reason Marvin never really gives an answer to the press is because he doesn't know the answer!

Well, they can make those sorts of comments after that commanding display against the Steelers last night, and having soundly beaten the Bengals on opening day. Wait a minute. Which town's paper was making these comments? That's right. The one town with a team that's almost as bad as the Bengals.

Bengals might win this one by a cricket score.

Mark,
Why are we always the joke of the NFL. The Sun article does not blame Lewis...it blames the team. Is he not the leader of the team? Does anyone think we have a chance for the playoffs or should we just quit and not play anymore games. I have run out of energy to deal with this joke of a team.

Lewis would make a great D coordinator? Please stop drinking the Kool-Aid! Marvin Lewis is a good man, but he's proven he's no D genius. Marvin's had his shot, and he did a nice job of restoring the franchise's dignity, but it's time to bring Urban Meyer's game to the next level!!! Unleash the gator!!!

I don't see a problem with what the paper said, which was all true. After making Losman look like a Hall of Famer and letting another running back pound us into the dirt, this team deserves all the negative press it's garnered.

* By the way, it's offense, not "offence".

Accurate statements made. Bungles will lose to the pathetic Ravens. Time for Marvin to hit the road (take his crappy coaching staff with him as well).

Marvin is too nice to be a head coach. Where is the discipline on either side of the ball? Where is the kick in pants for screwing up? How about benching people for penalties and other mistakes? We need to hire a real personnel director too who can judge talent.

Dear Mr Marvin Lewis,

On behalf of Bengal fans, I want to offer you free resume writing services.

Any time someone changes jobs it is a difficult time. Please feel free to lean on any of us for counseling. While this may be a difficult time, please hurry up and get out of town, as we want to salvage what is left of Carson Palmer's career. We know you understand as you were once part of a winning team in Baltimore as an assistant.

Best wishes,

Cincinnati Bengal Fans Everywhere

If we lose to Baltimore, Lewis ought to be fired and left in Maryland.

Chris Henry can't keep his arrogant juvenile ignorant mouth shut, apparently.

What a dumb loser. Chris Henry is the biggest loser EVER on the Bengals.

I've already reserved my 2008 Halloween costume: it's Chris Henry wearing an Orange Jumpsuit in leg irons.

You can take the whatever out of the whatever but apparently you can't take the criminal out of the whatever!

What an absolutely classless, clueless little boy that jerk is!

This is like the twilight zone - being a bengal's fan!!! Absolutely ridiculous - I just heard a report by Willie on "The Big One" - that stated there is a police report for Chris Henry from yeterday in Kentucky!!! You have got to be kidding me. One day after being reinstated he had to get in some trouble. I would be surprised if he ever wears a Bengals uniform again - if this is true. I am waiting for confirmation, and hoping this is a bad dream.
