Chad on team charter

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson is on the team charter at Buffalo Niagara International Airport. The CT scan on his neck at a Buffalo hospital was normal.

Johnson was injured near the end of the Bengals' 33-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills today at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

The charter was scheduled to leave at 6:45 p.m. Bengals public relations director Jack Brennan said Johnson was on the plane a few minutes before 7 p.m. He had been accompanied to the hospital in the back of an ambulance by fellow wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

He wasn't hurt, he just wanted a nap on the way to the airport and to show his displeasure at the play calling. He's another primadonna cry baby. Get used to it cause he is just getting started.

I'd like to know how many NFL players have gone off the field on a stretcher with no actual injury this year. I haven't seen one other than Prince Chad.

Hmmm. I wonder if he was faking it?

Chad really looks like a drama queen on this one. The hit he took was not all that bad and he moved his arms and legs after the hit. What a baby this guy is, he drops a couple passes and lies on the field after barely taking a hit. Good thing we didn't trade him and get a team player not a self promoter. There is a reason he has no TD passes in the past 6 games. WAKE UP PEOPLE. If Chad did not do his celebrations he would barely be known outside the Drama Queen City.

If Chad had made that catch and/or the Bengals were winning the game he would have gotten up...The only reason he stayed down was out of frustration and not wanting to continue in the game...Call it cruel, whatever...I don't know what his problem is, but it's all mental...Even though the season is over, it'll be interesting to see what difference Chris Henry makes next week...

On a different note, injuries...If Ahmad Brooks can not come back this week to play they should IR him...He's been of no consequence to the team to this point...
Also, Willie should call it a season and let Andrews get as many snaps as possible...Our starting O-line next year will be Levi, Whitworth, Ghuiacic, Williams and Andrews...No disrespect to big Willie, but the years have caught up to him and he is not worth the money left in his contract...The same goes for Justin Smith...$8 mil for him makes as much sense as $13 mil next year for Adam Dunn...

Lastly, Rudi is either more hurt than he's letting on or has simply lost a step...I can not recall the last time I saw him hit a whole...Sure would be nice if Chris Perry could come back from his 7 year injury...Here's a guy that has gone from "Having a chance" to not be on the PUP list to start the season, to "almost being ready to go" as week 6 drew near to "We'll use the full 3 weeks before he's back"...These are all Marvin's words...Review the news conference footage...The Bengals medical staff is either completely clueless, which I believe to be the case, or Marvin has been playing hide and seek with CP's situation..Either way, the health matters of Ahmad, Chris Perry, Rudi and Willie have all been one big joke...You're right Marvin, no other football team acts this way...Because when they have injuries they make do without...How many years did Indy have a horrible defense and they still won football games?

What the hell is wrong with you people. The ability to walk and have a normal life is a little more important than if the bengals won. How the hell can you question whether or not it was legit. The last person to get taken out on a strecther in Buffallo is just again learning how to walk. Think what you want about chad, but damn give him a break on this one.

It's ashame that the 3 previous blogers have lowered themselves to the level of poking fun at Chad.

How about one of you lay yourself out for a hit in the NFL?

It shows a lack of intelligence on your parts. I am embarassed to be from Cincy with idiotic comments such as these.

We all know it is a very disappointing year for the Bengals, and hard to take as a lifetime Bengals fan; however, life goes on. How about the three of you get a life too? Your comments are pathetic.

Mark, thanks for your insite, work, and intelligence. I don't always agree with you, but do appreciate your good work.

This team is just not good. The offense is overrated. Stop fooling yourselves into thinking the loses are because of injury, distractions etc. This team, at full health, is still subpar, made up of castoffs. I was saying this a year ago. I mean be honest, how many of you felt bad for Steinbach when you learned he would HAVE to go to Cleveland? Ironic.
And it won't get better as Emperor Nero Brown continues to fiddle ("Three headed monster made up of Katie, her husband, and Mike". Wow...Wow.)
Wise up Cincy. The problem isn't that he didn't go for it on 4th and 1, it is that he COULDN'T. The Who dey heads just assume that this "high octane offense" would get the yard, as if the Steelers were a bunch scrubs put together on the cheap. Nah, Marvin knew what the rest of this town doesn't, these guys are bad.
I know now the talk will be about Chris henry coming back as if he was some great savious with gaudy numbers. he is a 3rd WR on a bad team, will be out of shape, and is still the same liability that you had before. It is going to be a long year.
Good Luck, I'm done on here as it is just not fun anymore.

GO BROWNS!

Will you delusional Bengal fans look at the truth. If he hadn't dropped a pass that hit his hands not once but twice and gained 50 yards and possible scored he would have gotten up from that hit. The hit was not that bad, if it was they would have showed it over and over in slow motion, just like Tim Krumrie's leg. Chad looks out for himself and if he was quarterback and throwing to Carson who dropped a pass in his mitts he would have ran out there and chewed his head off. Chad is a drama queen who gave up on the game. He has been mailing it in the past 5 games, hence he does not have a td catch in the last 6 games now. All he cares about is celebrating. Every time he drops a pass he acts like he just lost the super bowl. He is a cancer and needs to be traded asap for a team player. Future H.O.F. my as, what a drama queen in the queen city.

Observation:

1) John Kitna at Detroit:6 wins and 2 losses.

2) John Kitna has a higher quarteback rating than Carson Palmer!!!!!

I can question that the hit was not legit because
1.)Chad was flailing his arms and legs after the play, even trying to get up, then laying back down

2.) The CT scan was normal

I would give Chad a break on this one if something actually showed up on the CT scan, instead NOTHING, it showed up normal.

I am not poking fun at Chad but being a realist. He is a drama queen, negative CT scan proves it, and gave up and did not want to answer questions about the dropped pass.

It shows a lack of inteligence to watch this hit and realize that he was barely touched, if he was they would have replayed it non stop. Every year for the last 17 years has been a disappointing one for the Bengals. Maybe you need to get a life and not let the results of the pathetic Bengals cloud your vision that they are not even a mediocre team, they are BAD. Your arguments are weak.

if you watched the game maybe you'll realize the whip lash that occurred when he put his body in danger for that catch on the sideline. he was playing on the brink of getting hurt

Couple questions for the ignorant people:

Did you see what happened in Buffalo earlier this year? Those trainers don't take risks in those situations. Do you remember when Pollack broke his neck? He was moving and pounding his arms into the turf. He still have a very serious injury but because he didn't injure his spinal chord, he was very lucky to not have serious health complications. Chad could have very easily done the same and broken his neck. YOU DON'T RISK THAT.

Also consider that Chad had a very hard hit earlier in the game in which he slammed his head to the ground. Injuries like that can have effects later in the game.

Lets just be glad that he's okay and that he'll be back in action in no time.

Chad saw an opportunity to avoid an UGLY postgame after showing he is really quite average in the NFL. If he had ANY neurological deficit, he would still be in Buffalo. He should have at least missed the charter to sell it a little more. The ONE time he goes over the middle and gets hit, we get an Oscar caliber performance.

at 11/04/2007 9:43 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

this may have been the most essential moment for why chad's talk endangers him and his team. The pressure he puts on himself has become almost pugilistic. He's trying to please millions of people, and forgetting how to play football. Did you see TJ showing him the basics of receiving on the sideline? that's like teaching Jimi Hendrix the C chord. At 7 years in the league he can start thanking he's still alive after every team he faces looks to end his life. I think if he pulls within himself, he'll still be Chad, talk some trash, but he'll stop short of being foolish. Right now, Marvin Harrison's "speak softly and carry a big stick" philosophy looks like the proper way for chad to go because even when chad speaks softly he's still louder than most.

WOW!! The 33 points were the most for the Bills since their 37-27 victory against the ...............
.................
............you guessed it ........ the BENGALS on Dec. 24, 2005 at Paul Brown Stadium.

The Bills top rusher had more than 10 times as many yards as the top Bengals rusher.

Has anyone told emperor Lewis that his clothes are invisible yet?

at 11/04/2007 9:52 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

You know, after Chad got pushed and slammed his helmeted forehead into the ground, he should have been taken out of the game. I guarantee he received a concussion on that play. It's really callous and stupid of this dumb team to have not taken him in for a neurological check up at that point. Chad was clearly stunned and hurting, and you simply can't hit your head like that and not get a concussion.

This team can't do anything right.

I'm so sick of Marvin Lewis and Mike Brown I could spit.

Chad, you're risking your life out there, playing after a concussion. Don't be a fool. Come out and stay out when your bell is rung.

And even with your hard head, there's no way in hell that you didn't suffer a concussion before the play that caused you to be carried off on a stretcher.

you can say that becouse the ct scans came out normal so he facked it.
Freel's came out normal and was out 6 weeks. Ross's was also normal and was out about 2 weeks. A ct does not say that there is no injury, Just that there is no majer structral damege.
The Reds players were out with concosions. He made the plane and is going to be OK. Winning football games are not the most important things in life.

What are you talking about? Troy and Katieblackburn (fanburn) are football geniuses! Just like Castenelli is a baseball genius!

We didn't need Torre. We could settle for Dusty and his steroid-inflated managerial record.

We didn't need to draft DL or OL players, no! We needed to draft a damn running back! (Rudi was durable as of last year's draft).

Okay, so maybe the Royal Dumbbenbaums aren't responsible for Daddy Browns lack of EVERYTHING great owners have...but come on.

Marvin Lousy is a joke
The Bengals are still a team with no stars on the OL or DL or at LB or in the Defensive backfield.

This "all-receiver" team of all-stars are 1/8th of a good team.

The other 7/8s have never been here under Mike Brown. And never will be.

I'd like nothing better than to see Brown and Lewis leave town rather than continue these annual failurefests.

Defense , defense , defense, what ---We have 4 men on defense that know how to tackle and do it , dexter, robert gathers, justin and landon, the other 7 should donate their game paycheck to "CHARITY" because the defense is nothing but "CHARITY" to all the NFL teams that play them, marvin the " DEFENSIVE GENIUS" cant even teach his players how to tackle, all high school coaches teach their players to watch the mid section of the runner and drive their shoulder into the mid section of the runner wrap their arms around the player and drive them back and into the ground, but I guess that is to hard for the "DEFENSIVE GENIUS" to teach and understand---huh ? marvin and i am sorry that chad got hurt, but i have seen him bounce up from many hits like that when the bengals were winning , maybe chad should make some more funny ads for ESPN and tell them to put him on the field dropping passes and see how funny that will look, and i am sure that chad doesnt drop his pay check when he goes to the bank to cash it , oh well mike brown has saw the last dollar that my family and my firends will spend at the games ever again unless he fires the DEFENSIVE GENIUS and hires a coach that will stop all the bull s--- that marvin puts up with and unloads the players that just show up to get a paycheck and dont care about the TEAM.

First off let me say I'm glad Chad wasn't seriously hurt. As much as I wish the Bengals would get rid of him, I don't wish injury on anyone.

But this is Chad, the one who always plays up the injuries. Since he became "elite" he seems to get hurt alot, only to return in the next play or two to show everyone he's a "warrior".

He is not the only reason the Bengals are so bad, but he is a prime example of it.

It's all about Chad, it always has been. It's about his numbers and the personal attention.

And you can count me as one excited to get Henry back. He has the most gifted reciever they have. Hopefully he has his act together now.

Folks it's simple. Mike Brown. He doesn't give one rat's *%@ As long as there are butts in the seats, all is good in Bengals Land. Get used to it. No scouting, no GM, bad drafts, no free agents. Face it, the Bengals are nothing more than a product. Blind loyalty makes no sense. If a restaurant is no good, you don't go back. Why would you continue to support a private enterprise that continues to produce a product like the pathetic Bengals? Mike Brown and his family simply don't care. They are nothing but money mongering miserable people who will continue to steal money from the hard working folks of the fine people of Cincinnati. Spend your money and effort somewhere else.

8:55 - anonymous - Chad did not put himself in danger on the catch on the sideline, at least he caught that ball. Do you think that cb's and db's would hit him that hard if he kept his mouth shut. They are gunning for him because he is pompous and doesn't shut his mouth. Here is a quote after the game from Whitner,

“Great players … you rarely get a great hit on them because they’re going to see you out of the corner of their eye, and they’re going to get down,” Whitner said. “So when you get a chance to hit a guy that talks so much, and everybody I had this week (said) 'Please hit Chad Johnson.’ And that’s how everybody feels, especially when you have a good player that talks so much.”

If he was on the brink of getting hurt, maybe just maybe he shouldn't have been in the game then anyway, the game was over then anyway.

I saw what happened earlier in Buffalo, today Chad took a light hit which the CT scan showed NOTHING.

BTW Freel and Ross play baseball not football. Freel hitting the wall is at least contact, the two bills players barely hit Chad, look at the replay. He tried to get up after the play and did not want to go through the questions about the dropped pass, lack of production, losses piling up.

Once again delusional Bengal fans have cloudy vision.

The people who are saying that Chad was faking it aren't trying to take shots at him, as much as they are trying to get a rise out of everybody who is reading this. It is a sad existence, but it exists, so just try and ignore it.

Glad too see Chad is Ok, we were very worried.

at 11/05/2007 1:21 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

I really hope the individuals that think Chad was faking it have come to their senses today. I see many of the posts were posted yesterday and judging by how I felt after the loss I probably would have said some ridiculous things as well. Chad is a great player, and I think he is starting to realize that he needs to watch what he says, otherwise he will get hit a little harder from the defenders around the league. He didn't fake anything and I'm glad to see he's ok. I hope he can play in the next week or two because it would be a big loss if we lost him just as Chris Henry is coming back.

A final comment on the team this season, Marvin Lewis is not the problem. You can blame Mike Brown all you want but ultimately it is the players responsibility to want to win. Marvin can hoot and holler all he wants at the players but if they don't want to play to win they aren't going to do it. To much emphasis is placed on coaches. They aren't the ones playing the game. The players are!!

I often think that Chad plays up his "injuries". Every game he signals to the trainers and hobbles of to the sideline at some point, only to return shortly. That being said, I doubt he was faking it yesterday. The hit he took on the sideline when his head was planted in the ground had to have resulted in a concussion. No doubt about it. Any hit after that is not only more painful, but incredibly dangerous.

Also, as for the defense trying to hit him because he's a talker, that may be, and probably is true. But Chad has fun with his comments. Sometimes he's a bit over the top, but he is a very likeable guy to his teamates, and opposing players. Just look at how many people surrounded the stretcher before he was taken off the field. Both benches surrounded him to wish him well. He's no T.O. or Randy Moss.

As a Bills season ticket holder who was there...and saw the Everett injury as well, let me just say I'm glad Chad is ok...didn't look like he was faking it. For those who want to get rid of him, we'd be happy to have him in Buffalo opposite Lee Evans. He comes across as a guy who just enjoys himself on the field. I sit along the tunnel and some guys were jawing with Chad as he and the Bengals were waiting to take the field saying "You suck" and stuff like that. Chad was giving it right back to them and it looked like he was trying not to laugh when he was saying it. Showboating can be a distraction and a detriment if done the wrong way. I don't see it that way wth Chad. It's obvious he's just having fun...nothing wrong with that.

Chad Johnson has accomplished his goal...look at all of the attention he is getting on this blog alone let alone the rest of the football world. Those people who are saying he didn't do it for attention are proving my point....they are talking about him and giving him the attention!!! Just like a little kid..negative attention is still attention.

OK.... the Monday night bowling team all agreed that "Chad the Mouth" was a hall of fame Drama Queen in Buffalo. How come the good teams don't have characters like Cad.... I mean Chad? I don't see one in New England or Indianapolis... or even Pittsburgh...(Pitt had one but found his antics were more disruptive than he was worth so now JOEY plays with winless Miami) Chads a big cancer on the Bengals. I hope they sign him to a big new contract so his antics will receive TV time and ESPN highlight films (because his plays don't provide anything special) and the Bengals can claim an Oscar for his acting instead of a Super Bowl Ring..... WE'VE HAD IT WITH CHAD!!!!!!!

You have to be kidding me! Are you folks really dogging Chad Johnson? He's drawing the double so Housh can have his awesome season. He had a couple of drops. Need I remind you that Housh has actually dropped far more 4th quarter passes than Johnson has. He will be fine. Get ready to be back on his jock like you all will be once he gets a couple of catches and the Bengals get a win. Don't act like you won't be. Wanna talk about whiners? Always looking for drama where there is none. The drama is that they are losing so you want to find one guy to blame. How about Rudi not being able to hit a hole to save his life? Willie Anderson limping around on his overrated foot or knee or whatever his problem is? How about Dexter Jackson )and the entire secondary for that matter) not knowing how to wrap up to make a tackle? Maybe then the Bills would not have put up 17 in the fourth. Try teaching some fundementals Bresnehan. If they don't get a turnover then they give up a buck fifty on the ground and let Losman look like a seasoned vet. One drop does not make or break a game when your playing the Bills for Pete's sake....at least it shouldn't.
