Song for election day
"This Is My Country" The Impressions (Curtis Mayfield) Some people think we don't have the rightTo say it's my countryBefore they give in, they'd rather fuss and fightThan say it's my countryI've paid three hundred years or moreOf slave driving, sweat, and welts on my backThis is my country Too many have died in protecting my prideFor me to go second classWe've survived a hard blow and I want you to knowThat you must face us at lastAnd I know you will give considerationShall we perish unjust or live equal as a nationThis is my country

Beautifully sorrowful lyrics, Mark C. I looked for Tee Sundae when I voted yesterday, but didn't see him anywhere.
