Another telling statement, looking forward
Carson Palmer, besides being an outstanding quarterback, is an honest man. There's a sense that he doesn't know how to lie.
Asked whether there is someselfishness among Bengals players, Palmer said, "There is someselfishness. We need to work to get out and move on. I’m not going to go into detail. It’s between our team. It’s a team issue. We need to resolve it as a team and move on."

What does "selfishness" mean? Why does the media keep talking about selfish-selfish-selfish without explaining what the heck this means?
This has been going on since the Jan 2006 PIT at CIN Playoff game as far as I can remember.
As far as I can tell, the player who mouths off about selfishness the most (Big Willie) is the worst of the bunch -- he played, what, 3 snaps the other day? He's clearly hurt, is this about his consecutive start streak? We're out there like boys playing grown men? WTF?

The selfishness starts at the top with Marvin Lewis. He is only coaching for the money. If he wanted to win he would have taken over the defense a long time ago. Look at Dallas. Wade Phillips runs the D and Jason Garret the O. And, oh wait, Dallas is suddenly considered a top team in the NFL. Marvin Lewis’ stamp is all over this team of losers.
Truthful but clueless as a leader to impact change. Selfishness is obviously driven by an over realized sense of ones own importance. That is not a matter of technique but character. That will take a lifetime to address. This franchise has made some very shortsighted decisions that are now presenting long term unintended consequences.
Can you tell me of one sports franchise that converted itself from selfish to selfless without a major regime overhaul.
Well..... I admit that Carson is a great guy, but not telling a lie is a bit far. Especially when he just did lie the other day when he said the INT at the goal line was his fault. Sure it was just to get the media off CJ, but it was still a lie. Everyone knows the fault was not Carson
