Bengals add new linebacker
The game of musical linebackers continues at Paul Brown Stadium.
The Bengals today made the following roster moves:
-- Acquired linebacker Corey Mays on waivers from New England. Mays is a second-year NFL player from Notre Dame whose contract runs through this year . He played in the Patriots’ season opener, with one special teams tackle, was inactive for Games 2-3, and was waived prior to Monday’s game against the Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium. Mays entered the NFL with New England in 2006 as a college free agent. He played in eight games, with two tackles on defense and eight on special teams. He was on the practice squad for a portion of 2006.
-- Placed linebacker Lemar Marshall on the Reserve/Injured list. Marshall suffered a torn left Achilles tendon in Monday’s game against New England. He started the first four games at strong-side linebacker and closes his season 10 tackles, including a sack for a safety at Seattle, and a forced fumble.

The Bengals are fielding the worst unit of linebackers ever assembled in Pro Football History. How good was that Ed Hartwell signing, huh?
again our linebacking corp is a freakin joke! damn odell why did u have to be an a drunkard? this season is slowly going down the drain
I do not understand why the Bengals do not bring back Ed Hartwell. He did not look bad in the pre-season, and while he would not help the Special Teams, we need to be more worried about the defense now.
By the way, when is someone going to address the fact that neither are kicker or punter seem capable of kicking the ball further than 30 yards.
What is up with that?
The Bungles kept Caleb (needs a job at Jeff Ruby's) Miller but cut loose Andre Frazier. Pittsburgh immediately snagged Andre again.
Smart move Marvin
It shouldn't be long before Mays ends up getting hurt.
I say the Bengals hold open tryouts for LBs. At this point, why not? it can't be any worse than their scouting department.
Any word on which players opted not to show up to the meeting today?
