Teams trade FGs; Ravens lead 26-20

BALTIMORE -- The Bengals trail 26-20 with 3:40 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Bengals just used their second timeout. The Ravens face a third and seven from their 45-yard line.

The Bengals held, but safety Dexter Jackson dropped a second would-be interception.

Keiwan Ratliff returned a punt 17 yards, setting up the Bengals on their 24-yard line with one timeout remaining.

This was yet another game the Bengals should have won. Points off turnovers did them in this week, putting them in another hole, which means less running and more throwing. Mr. "Ocho Cinco" needs to just keep his mouth shut this week.

Thankfully I got rid of my season tickets years ago. What a poorly coached, poorly talented team. With any luck all the Bengals jerseys and sweatshirst will be "Buy 1 get 2 free" by the Christmas !!. Once again, Cincinnati is the laughing stock of all of the NFL. They should be 2-6. What a bozo ..Houshamazingo (or what ever his name is) Andy Furman should feel proud.........

Housh and Chad need to just SHUT UP. Quit blaming refs, coaches, and teammates, and SHUT UP and look in the mirror.

ok...in regards to the second comment, it is probably good that this individual no longer has season tickets because he/she clearly does not know or understand the game of football. he says the bengals are clearly a laughing stock and are poorly coached...perhaps he missed that the bengals are about five plays away from being 7-1...right now they are not catching some of the breaks that they caught last year and they are clearly a very beat up football team. They will not play a game this season at full strength and that's a shame because they are a very talented and well coached football team...let me repeat that again, they are talented and well coached. if they make some breaks for themselves they will be okay, there is not a team in the nfl they cannot beat. and if you want to talk laughing stock (besides the afore mentioned comment) see the oakland raider.

10 Things to consider (cue the theme song from TITANIC):

(1) Blind bozo NFL refs refuse to call games fairly when Cincy plays so we need to work "within" that reality. You can't fight City Hall or Idiot Zebras.

(2) OCHOKE SINKO whining instead of working on his hops (if you had a more than 24" vertical leap we'd have won today, Chad!) is an utter waste of time (and is really aggravating). You're no T.O., Ocho, so just zip it. We can all see it's not your fault you're being underutilized.

(3) HENRY, KELLY, and RUDI are underutilized as receivers too. If Marques Colston were on the Bengals instead of Kelly, he'd have Kelly's stats...

(4) Offensive play calling is still too timid and still fails to stretch the field enough, especially in the first quarter and on first downs.

(5) Prince apparently has a better grip than returnman Perry (a hummingbird could dislodge the ball from you when you run).

(6) Our hard-hitting defense is still not getting enough pressure on opposing QBs...McNair will not be sore at all tomorrow.

(7) Carson Palmer's case of over-throwitis is NOT the fault of the Offensive Coaches or Chad or the Refs or the Offensive Line. It was refreshing to hear take some blame. Nevertheless, he is having to hurry his throws and so the coaches are going to have to utilize DIFFERENT PLAYS that account for what the O.L. can and cannot do this season.

(8) Next April we'd better see the OL and DL being drafted for the first 8 picks...we need pass rushing and pass blocking to be upgraded SUBSTANTIALLY. The Bengals need to hire more scouts. The "will to win" is nothing if you're not going to "walk the walk" Mr. Brown!

(9) HOUSH is the only receiver the Bengals are utilizing properly. I don't blame him for throwing his helmet today after the idiotic non-call, especially after a day of having more Ravens sitting on his arms than the average scare-crow.

(10) Lewis gets an "A+" for his transformation of the Bengals, and for being a smart, no-nonsense, yet fair and likeable head coach. Obviously, the players respect him and they should. They hit harder and tackle better under Lewis. On paper we have one of the ELITE offenses in the NFL. Nevertheless, Lewis and his staff get a "D" for offensive play design and a "C+" for play calling so far this year, along with a "C-" for strategy on first downs and at the ends of halfs and games.
This remains the one area where an immediate change in approach and philosophy needs to be made (although since Tampa Bay they've improved somewhat) before the Bengals are 4-8!

The Bengals are a joke. Houshmandzadeh and Johnson behaved like babies. A little adversity and it all comes crashing down. Booo hoooo booo hooo the refs blew the call, "We know we're better than Baltimore, we have better players"?! Well too bad because YOU LOST HOUSH and that's all that matters...he sounds like a child on the playground.

5 plays away from 7-1 ?. Interesting I "missed" the lottery by 3 numbers, does that make me a "kinda-millionaire" ?...sheesh perhaps you are the bozo.

The Bengals are a "second" tier team at best. Good talent and good coaches command respect on and off the field. Poorly coached teams are......the Bengals.

My prediction is a 7-9 season.

I can't believe no one has commented that while watching the game Sunday the Raven's coach said the F word 2x on TV and it wasn't blocked out. He should get a fine also!! What happened to "family entertainment".

Also.....who can win a game when opponents are double teamed against you. Shouldn't have to play the officials team AND the opposing team at the same time. I still feel we can beat the odds though this is the second BLANTANT game Bengals have gotten beaten this year by Refs. Bengals are better than the officials, and opposition! We have heart! WHO DEY!
