Mark Curnutte offers the latest on the Cincinnati Bengals


Mark Curnutte started covering the Bengals and the NFL for The Enquirer in 2000. He previously wrote about urban affairs and other social issues for the Enquirer. He won the prestigious 1994 Unity Award from Lincoln University (Missouri) for "A Polite Silence," a seven-day series about race relations in Greater Cincinnati. He also has worked as an assistant features editor and features writer at The News & Observer in Raleigh, N.C. Curnutte is second vice president and a three-year board member of the Professional Football Writers of America (PFWA). He is a 1984 Miami University graduate.

Stover makes 60th career FG vs. Bengals

BALTIMORE -- Matt Stover's 36-yard field goal, his third of the game, gave the Ravens a 23-7 lead over the Bengals.

Stover is now 60 of 67 career on field goals against the Bengals.

Will someone, anyone, please tell me why ratliff still returns punts?!?!

He is absolutely lousy! Why doesn't he let the ball go when it's at the 5 yard line?

It kills me that he does this week in and week out, and there appears to be no consequence for his lack of judgment.

I must be getting senile because I cannot remember a single occasion that Matt Stover missed a FG attempt against Cincinnati, even dating back to the original Cleveland Browns. Apparently he has missed seven in his career.
