Looking ahead to No. 46

In the second round, the Bengals should be in the neighborhood to get a solid defensive tackle. The two that could be there are Notre Dame's Trevor Laws and Auburn's Pat Sims.

With Pittsburgh (RB) and Baltimore (QB) picking on the offensive side of the ball we need to continue to focus on the defense.

I watch today and find myself amazed! Yes, I admit sometimes I am a little negative, but I can be objective. Today though, unbelievable!!!!

I watched fantastic GM's do deals, move up and down, come up with all kinds of moves to better their team. Actually, I would say that 29 or 30 teams really addressed needs and made their team better!

THE BENGALS WEREN'T ONE OF THEM!

So many opportunities to trade and rid themselves of negatives and move around to become positive, and it is no different than what most of us fans knew would happen!

I wouldn't mind seeing DeSean Jackson taken. Good WR and great return guy which the Bengals need.

This is the worst draft ever. Which is saying something, given the Bengals sorry history.

With DeSean Jackson on the board they go for a total reach in round two, after doing nothing to get their man in round one.

Pathetic excuse for an NFL franchise.

Being a fan of this team just sucks the life out of you. I'm numb. As predicted in a Thursday comment, the Bengals would sit "idly by" as someone moved ahead of them to take Ellis, and sure enough, that happened. Then, in the 2nd round, they take a small school WR, when they could have taken Trevor Laws. It's not even that Simpson might not be a good player...but think about the logic..they are holding hard and fast with CJ and keeping a cancer in the locker room, and then use a Top 50 pick to pick a, yes, WR!!!!!!!! all while they have needs at DT, and yes, RB (anyone who thinks Rudi is going to cut it is in fantasyland). They could have moved Chad, washed their hands of that selfish malcontent, gotten another good defensive player with a pick from that trade, and then selected a WR. Instead, they've BUNGLED it again. This team/franchise is an embarrassment, and it sucks the life out of me (yet, I keep coming back as a fan...sad).

Can you believe the lack of NFL know how in this place. We never trade a draft pick up or down. Right Akili? Now we know the Saints want to go up and we do not counter and lose Ellis. Rivers is the best backer, but he is no Patrick Willis or AJ Hawk so why not go up and get Ellis. Then in round 2 we pass on big fast Limas Sweed for an unknown we could have gotten in round 4 and he goes to the Steelers. This is the worst draft strategy. We need some serious help in the draft room.
