Saints trade up, take DT Ellis
The Bengals sat on their ninth pick, while New Orleans leap-frogged over them and Baltimore to select defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis from Southern Cal. He was the player the Bengals were thought to like most.
The Saints gave New England the 10th and 78th overall picks for the No. 7 pick to get Ellis.
Jacksonville has just traded up No. 26 in the first round to get the No. 8 pick from Baltimore.

Damn, how typical was that. The Bengals sit on their hands and the Saints jump up and take the guy we wanted.
Well, There goes that idea. Right now Mike Brown has no idea what to do. Maybe he should consult wit the GM. oops. No GM. This should be funny.
we suck!!!
we better trade down with our pick for a vetern player.
The Bengals sat around and didn't get what they wanted. Shocking...
Now choose a wide receiver and finish the job.
we got Rivers, we should have traded down.
I couldn't agree more. I've heard Rivers is solid, but we needed a DE not a LB.
Typical Bengals. We really needed an impact DE. I've heard Rivers is solid but not our main need.
A 3rd round pick. That's all it would've taken. They'd better blow that pick out of the water. That's all I'm saying.
Rivers is a nice pick but we contine to be an also-ran organization. Saints trade up, pass us, grab the man we wanted in Ellis, we sit on our hands. Typical. We are doomed!
Why am i not surprised? Another excellent decision by Mike Brown. (I've been sarcastic obviously)
Great, way to add to the 24 LBs already on the roster. Good job not addressing their biggest need. Chad Johnson is starting to sound really smart when he says the Bengals aren't getting better. Look for Carson to start asking out in 2009!!!
