Bengals officially sign Blackstock

Linebacker Darryl Blackstock has signed a one-year contract with the Bengals, the team announced this morning.

It is a one-year minimum of $520,000 for a player with three credited seasons. Blackstock, who played his first three seasons with Arizona, also received $40,000 to sign.

He is expected to added an experienced player to special teams and compete for snaps on defense, especially as a pass rusher. He had three sacks in only four games playing defense last season for the Cardinals.

thank God...I was just thinking to myself, "this defense is just 8 or 10 backup, cast-off linebackers away from being mediocre"...

Typical Bengals/Reds fan there, aka worst fans ever, whine and whine about every move made saying he is a castoff of such and such, we need a big name, oh no don't sign Zach Tomas he stinks. Guys there is no median. the Bengals aren't magically going to grab Willis or Totupu, so it is either going to be guys who are back-ups who could flourish as a starter or guys who are older and moving on from another team. Quit whinning it is not like the signed him to a guarenteed contract to start. Get over it......

The envelope finally got back to cincy,I wonder if MB even sent a returned envelope w/ a 32 cent stamp, addressed to his office,MB'a way of doing business, old school. What some call cheap, others inept, & bengals fans call getting the raw deal

Bengals spokesman confirmed the latest news-

"MB's way of doing business is what some like to call old school, the old fashion way of doing business,A hand shake, Cup of coffee, & a 32 cent stamp. He always's hold's a man to his word, that is why he usually make's the person/player pay for the cup of coffee, just to prove how frugal he really is.This is the type of Management Skills that MB has proven that has RESULTS,his prowess in the GM ranks does not go overlooked for his keen decision making skills, making Cincinnati the feared program they are today".

Feared in not signing with such a bungal of a owner.Did you you folks know the word Bungal is censored on the bengal's website message board.Too funny.

I've seen Blackstock work out. The guy is a stud. I'm sure he will be a valuable asset to the Bengals. As opposed to a few other selfish wide recievers who will go nameless because only giving their names will give their endorses more free advertising...

Mentos the Freshmaker! you lint licker!
