Roster moves

The Bengals today placed tailback DeDe Dorsey, center Eric Ghiaciuc and free safety Madieu Williams on the season-ending injured reserve list. Dorsey has a high ankle sprain, Ghiaciuc a foot sprain and Williams a thigh ailment. All three players had already been declared out for the Miami game Sunday at Dolphin Stadium.

In their places, the Bengals signed tailback Quincy Wilson and guard Nate Livings the active roster. Both will be eligible to play Sunday.

Wilson was waived by the Bengals Sept. 2 after playing in all four preseason games. Livings has been on the practice squad all season.

The Bengals have one vacancy on the 53-man roster at this time.

Mark, I admire you for having the professionalism to continue with any reporting whatsoever on this team. What wonderful and refreshing substance they give you to report. Being a writer for the Bengals must be the closest thing to the film Groundhog Day.

Here's an idea to hook a bit of attention: put your assessment of the 2008 Bengals in a time machine and we will open it next December. I know, it's too easy and who cares.

I am, however, grateful during this season of cheer that Mike Brown is not a teacher, soldier, electrician or in any position where the measurement of his ability would harm the well being of people. He just jerks the emotions of this town...I am grateful and sad.

Mark--- We all get lost in the message of what success means for this organization given what recent history has set as expectations or .500 is a good year. Recent history (the last 17 years) has only magnified this perception that ownership has brainwashed us fans (and the press)into accepting.

The thing that gets to me is everyone wants to cite the "last 17 years". Really it has been ALL forty years of this franchise's existence. Here are the facts: 12 seasons (out of 40) the Bengals have had a "winning" record and only 8 playoff appearances (out of 40 seasons). The reality is most of the other 31 NFL franchises measure success by at least making the playoffs for a chance to earn the sleek silver trophy which is awarded to the Super Bowl champion.

The Bengals should replace their "B" crest with an "L" for Losers!

Given the 2008 schedule which includes the NFC East I suspect the tradition will continue with season 29 of a non winning record and season 33 of not making the playoffs---- Happy New Year :)

Why hasn't Schlegel played much lately?

Because hes not good and wouldn't be on the team if the Bengals didn't have so many injuries.

I KEEP TRYING TO POST THIS, BUT FOR SOME REASON YOU GUYS WON'T APPROVE IT. WHAT GIVES?

I just marvel at how stupid Sincy fans really are. You whine and whine about Mke Brown, Marvin etc, yet you still buy the tickets, merchandise, and go to the events sponsored by these idiots. Here's the two biggest factors that make you folks the most clueless fans in the NFL.
1.Mike Brown is a genius, Who Dey Heads are morons and here is why: He owns a business where he actually may make more money if his product sucks. If he has poor players, he spends less on them, stays under the cap, and pockets that money. In the meantime, he collects his share (The same as every other owner) of the multi billion dollar tv contracts, merchandise, and 40% of the gate at visiting stadiums. All this is pocketed and for him to spend to the cap, would mean taking money directly out of his coffers. And why should he? Even if you do not come to the games, he still makes a killing because of revenue sharing in the NFL. In other words, Mikey Mike is able to let the other owners like the Rooneys, Jones, Bowlen and others who spend to the cap, make the league exciting and competitive, do the heavy lifting while he sits back and profits from the popularity and brand building work of others in the business. He is the highest form of parasite in the NFL. Oh yeah, we built him a stadium with the money we make honestly.
2. I was talking to Mark as early as Sept 2006 about how bad this team is and how overrated, and headed for disaster it was. To his credit, he concurred with me in private and basically validated what I had been saying, but went on to explain that he could not be too critical (even though he saw the team crashing down before his eyes) because Bengal fans would crucify him. You dumba55 who dey heads were still delusional over the 2005 season. It took until this year (even though you went 8-8 last year) for bengal fans to finally get that their team is terrible, Marvin has no control, and nothing has changed. NOW YOU WANT TO JUMP ON MARK FOR NOT ASKING THE TOUGH QUESTIONS?!?!?!?!?! Get a clue you morons. He should have been asking these questions at the end of the 2005 year when it was obvious that Chad was a bust and a cancer, Marvin had lost control, and there were serious holes in this defense but instead, he balked for fear of the reaction he would get from you all.
Let the reporters challenge your team, when things are bad, but also when things are good or your team will not remain good. Read a Boston paper today and you will never know the Patriots are about to make history. Their media is relentless and stays on the team and coaches with a fervor a smart fan appreciates. Read the Pittsburgh Press today and you'd think the Steelers were 5-10 instead of 10-5!
You all brought this type of mediocrity on yourselves by blindly following this organization, muzzling your media, and basically marching like lemmings to PBS on Sundays.
As I said before, I will say again, this time with proof, validation and confidence:
YOU ARE THE DUMBEST FANS IN FOOTBALL.
3-S
Stay Stoopid Sincy!
