Ghiaciuc, Dorsey out for last game

Bengals starting center Eric Ghiaciuc and promising young tailback DeDe Dorsey will not play in the finale Sunday at Miami, coach Marvin Lewis said this afternoon.

Ghiaciuc has a foot sprain, and Dorsey a high ankle sprain.

Veteran safety Dexter Jackson (calf) and tailback Rudi Johnson (hamstring) "have a chance to play," Lewis said. And 12th-year right tackle Willie Anderson, making his first appearance since Oct. 21, "came out OK, a little tired and sore," Lewis said.

Other players injured during the game, such as linebacker Landon Johnson (lower back strain), are likely to play against the Dolphins, Lewis said.

I got a message for Mike Brown. Give Marvin Lewis what he wants. The man has been criticized all season and now we have an oppurtunity to see who the problem really is. I never thought it was Marvin and now the whole world will see. All I want for Christmas is a GM and a scout team.

I'd like if Johnson and Jackson never played another game for Cincy. Rudi 2.8 yards per carry Johnson, and Dexter "arm tackle oops missed again" Jackson... why do we need them?

I must say, I absolutely LOVED Shaun Smith's comments about Shayne "Shank" Graham. Everyone loves this guy to death but to me, he's not special. He's missed field goals in consecutive years AGAINST PITTSBURGH. You can't do that.

His % is so high because this team hits a brick wall inside the 20. He makes 35 yarders all day.

That could be it for Ghiaciuc as a a Bengal. We need to draft a center as well as some heavy-duty defense. I think D first and second pick, center 3rd pick. Surprising Ben Wilkerson didn't work out for us. He looked great at LSU.

Ghiaciuc is not the answer at center. He may be the most overmatched starter that I have ever seen in a Bengal uniform. This guy consistently gives up ground in the running game whenever he is asked to go one on one with a down lineman. You can't run the ball with a 310 pound d-lineman two yards in the backfield. What makes it worse is our center is back there too, trying feebaly to catch up to his man and getting in the way. As if he could actually block him if he got there. Why did Levi look like a fool against Arizona? Because he was hurt AND he could not be given help because our center can't block his man. While other teams are sliding help to their tackle to protect against eliete ends, the Bengals slide to the center and leave the end on an island. This has to be fixed before next season.
