Seeing the Bills in a close one

The numbers don't stack up well for the Bengals Sunday at Buffalo.

The Bills are winners of three of their last four and playing with swagger on defense. The Bengals have lost five of six.

Furthermore, the Bills have won eight in a row in the Bengals series, three consecutive against Marvin Lewis as Cincinnati coach.

Buffalo has a lot to play for. The Bills can win three games in a row for the first time since Weeks 11-16 in 2004 and reach the .500 mark for the first time since 2003.

Oh, and the Bengals are winless in their last five road games.

But more significant than numbers and infinitely more difficult to quantify is the Bengals' collective attitude. High expectations are not being met. A season is slipping away quickly, and the team might have lost some of its self-confidence in the loss to Pittsburgh.

And, yes, to revisit it once more, Lewis’ decision and subsequent flip-flopping on the fourth-and-1 field goal before halftime against the Steelers has only served to create more doubt in the locker room – regardless of the brave face and self-assured words from his players.

Bills 24, Bengals 23.

Before the season I predicted that the Bengals would go 7-9. Now...that would be a miracle. I don't think this team, mostly because of its defense, will win more than 4 games.

How about:
We take a collective public vow >> "if the Bengals lose to Buffalo, we won't go to the next home game" (one time deal, just to make a point to the Browns).

We don't have to give up forever but could let Mike know we could live without his mess if he doesn't do something.

The bengals will never do any good until Mike Brown and his family quit making any football decisions.

They need to hire a football general manager who can nix what they request or suggest.

That is the only chance this team may have.

Either that or change the official Bengal website to mikebrownsucks.com

How about not going to a game until Mike Brown sells the team?

Here are the Top 9 reasons the Bengals defense is bad this year:

1. David Pollack (injured)
2. Odell Thurman (suspended)
3. Ahmad Brooks (injured)
4. Rashad Jeanty (injured)
5. Lemar Marshall(injured)
6. Eric Henderson (injured)
7. Ethan Kilmer (injured)
8. Caleb Miller (injured)
9. Jonathan Fanene (injured)

Tell me again how all of this is Mike Brown's fault?

Anon, 11:00,

Yeah sure, NONE of this mess is Mike Brown's fault. What, are you related to the family or something? First, in case you haven't noticed, the Bungholes ALWAYS have injuries. Every single year. The fact they don't have quality backups to plug in is a HUGE issue related to operations. Plus, you mentioned O. Thurman. What, it's not their fault they drafted a known trouble-maker?! Give me a break. The ownership of this team CHOOSES to not invest the money it takes to be perpetually competitve, ie fund scouting at an NFL level. If they just paid the money it would take to fully scout potential draftees and FA's, injuries wouldn't be so much of an impact and we wouldn't be sitting here talking about not having Henry and Thurman on the field. Pollock I'll give you - freak accident that no one could have predicted. It's truly a stretch to say that the penny pinching Brown is not at fault for anything here. The success of this team, from a competitive standpoint, ended when Paul Brown died. THAT is not a coincidence. That is a lawyer doing what they do best - lining their pockets with other peoples money.

If all these guys were healthy, the Bengals would still SUCK, that's why it's Mike Brown's fault!!!

Marvin Lewis hasn't been fired yet, that's Mike Brown's fault.

All our coaches are the worst. Any decent coach could take Palmer, TJ, Chad, and our "okay" offensive line and turn the offense into a fast, downfield, aggressive unit that would make for a 4-3 record as opposed to a 2-5 record this year, and if the idiots knew how to DRAFT good players that we NEED (we needed a great DL or LB last draft and instead we went for a fragile running back) we could be a far better team.

No playoffs on the radar for this damn franchise any time soon.
