Watson wins 'ground player'

Bengals tailback Kenny Watson is the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week for games of Oct. 21-22, an honor which brings a $5,000 donation from FedEx to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

Watson won the award in fan voting on nfl.com, outpolling running backs Brandon Jacobs of the New York Giants and Larry Johnson of the Kansas City Chiefs. Each week, for both its Ground and Air awards, FedEx makes a $5,000 donation to the major children’s hospital in the city of the winning player’s team.

Watson rushed for 130 yards on 31 carries and scored three touchdowns in the Bengals’ 38-31 win over the New York Jets. He added 27 yards on three pass receptions.

"It's not about awards," Watson said. "It's about playing and doing the job."

UPDATED:
Wide receivers Chad Johnson (ankle) and Antonio Chatman (hamstring) were on the field and practicing this morning. Tailback Rudi Johnson did not have his jersey or helmet on but participated in light warm-up drills. Linebacker Caleb Miller (back) did not practice, either.

Chatman was excused from practice Thursday for personal reasons.

Linebacker Ahmad Brooks, out for the fifth consecutive game with a groin injury, caught head coach Marvin Lewis' ire for not getting on the field on time for the start of the 11 a.m. practice.

Asked after practice, at about 12:45 this afternoon, whether Rudi Johnson would play Sunday, Lewis said, "We'll see. Why do we ask these questions?"

Kenny Watson racked up 130 yards on 31 carries against the 28th ranked defense against the run while the other two nominees ran it up on the 22 and 29th ranked defenses against the run. I am guessing there is no degree of difficulty points allowed.
Sorry who dey heads, I'll take Marion Barber's 96 yards against Minnesota over Kenny (Who dat?) Watson.
Bengals are gonna run into a wall this weekend and it will be funny to watch all the hype and hop drain out of the who dey heads. The Jets aint the Steelers morons. You were given the Ravens game (they'll get the next one from ya) and the 1-5 Jets laid down with the lead. Let's not go and start thinking you're back yet. Beat the Steelers this weekend, and I promise not to post another nasty mean post on here again until the next Steeler week (which in PGH is known as week 13!)
Stay stoopid Cincy! Keep buying those tickets from Mikey Mike and you'll kepp getting what you get. Dumb.
P.S. I dey, you dey, we all dey, on any given dey!
I love Steeler week (or as they refer to it in the burgh, week 8)

why do you ask him that type of question. Rudi hasnt practiced all week and I cant remember the last player to dress after not practicing all week under Marvin. If it even has ever happened.

Why do we ask these questions? What Marvin, are just setting the stage for the same "you people dont know squat" that we are soon to receive next year from Dusty Baker?

Unbelievable! We now have two smug team leaders who think we sheep are stupid and not worth the time of a response to a question?

They ran Baker out of Chicago on a rail but he saw prime pickings in the Queen City after watching a few Lewis interviews on TV.

"Yeah, I want to be in a place where there is no accountability and you can tell the media and fans to pound salt" is what Baker had to be thinking.

Why do we ask these questions indeed? Lets all keep our mouths and minds shut and stay in line the way good little fans should!

Ok ANONYMOUS. I get your meaning ANONYMOUS. I am just so glad that you were able to cut on me ANONYMOUS with such swaggering bravado ANONYMOUS. It takes a real stud to get on here ANONYMOUS and give his name ANONYMOUS like you did.
I love it
Don't get mad at me because your hometown franchise is inept and unwilling to improve. Put your Burger Beer down, leave your shack in Cheviot, Price Hill or whatever dirtbag west side hood you drink in, and do something about your team!
Stay stoopid cincy! We love ya.
