Henry back in practice

The NFL is allowing wide receiver Chris Henry to begin practicing, though two games remain on his eight-game league suspension for violating its personal conduct policy.

Henry will practice this morning when the Bengals take the field in preparation for the game Sunday against the Steelers.

The league and Bengals had no additional comment. But the fact the NFL is allowing Henry to practice at this point appears to be a positive sign that his application for reinstatement has a good chance of being approved. Henry could play as early Nov. 11 at Baltimore.

"Two weeks is going to help him a lot," Bengals offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski said. "It’s going to certainly be a lot better than if he was only allowed to practice the week of the Baltimore game. It would be very hard for him to play. I think this two weeks gives him a chance to do some things in the Baltimore game. We’ll see how it goes, see what kind of shape he’s in and all of that."

Coach Marvin Lewis said Henry dislocated his ring finger in practice. Lewis said he also took the league's permission for Henry to practice as a sign that the third-year receiver has done everything he was required to in order to meet league requirements and guidelines.

UPDATED:
The Bengals just moved their injury report for today. The big news is right tackle Willie Anderson is listed as out with a knee injury. Anderson missed the Kansas City game Oct. 14. Stacy Andrews started at right tackle against the Chiefs and is expected to make the start Sunday against the Steelers.

I really hope that Henry learns his ****ing lesson. He's a professional, act like one. Because we need another play maker on our offence.

Funny how all along up to now, this was called an 8-game suspension, now the additional proviso about "then he'll have to apply for reinstatement", and he "could play as soon as Nov 11". Anyone want to take action on 1) how fast the commissioner deigns to make his ruling, and 2) that the answer is something other than "you are now reinstated?"

Did Tank Johnson have to jump through this many hoops?

Don't get me wrong, Chris Henry behaved like an absolute tool, and he is lucky he isn't either in a pine box or prison cell for sure, but Tank Johnson behaved just as poorly, probalby more so, since someone died in his case, and I would guess that since Roger and Jerry are tight, his road back will be paved with gold bricks, and no stop lights along the way.

Bottom line is...if Henry produces and helps get the bengals to the playoffs, people will forget about his troubles

What about Chris Perry? I was really hoping to have him back for Pittsburgh, but it doesn't sound as if he has been cleared by the team to play. We could really use his speed out of the backfield -MB

Henry is a liability, a time bomb waiting to do something stupid. A guy that dumb (wearing jersey while trying to improve his street cred with a gun) does not read a book, take a class, swallow a pill, or have an operation that makes him all of a sudden, smarter. No, he is that dumb for ever and always and he will implode at some time or other, and it will be yet another distraction on an already ADHD team.
Are you there God, it's me, who dey head hunter. God, why are Who dey heads so stupid?
