Vets make presence known

Quarterback Carson Palmer and cornerbacks Leon Hall and Jonathan Joseph came out to watch the morning practice today at rookie minicamp. Tight end Ben Utecht was out on the field, too. Safety Dexter Jackson addressed rookie camp participants Thursday night.

“We tried to surround them with the guys here, a group that – in the worst way – wants to win some football games,” head coach Marvin Lewis said. “They know … a few of them (rookies) are going to help contribute to that this year early on, and hopefully the rest of them later as we go.”

I love the fact that Leon Hall and Jonathan Joseph are hanging out together. They show up at camp, establish themselves as leaders in that young secondary. They remind me of when Bobby Taylor and Troy Vincent emerged as a probowl tandem in Philidelphia.
