WR Holmes out for Steelers

The Steelers will be without Santonio Holmes, one of their starting wide receivers, for the game Sunday night at Heinz Field against the Bengals.

Holmes has an ankle injury, did not practice Friday and was declared out. He has 39 receptions for a team-best 17-yard average and seven receiving touchdowns.

Cedrick Wilson (11 receptions for 131 yards) or Nate Washington (17 catches for 257 yards and two touchdowns) will get those snaps.

The rest of the Friday report from Pittsburgh:

Doubtful
S Troy Polamalu (LP, limited practice), knee
T Marvel Smith (DNP, did not practice), back

Probable
CB Bryant McFadden (FP, fully practiced), ankle
WR Hines Ward (FP), coach's decision

Mark-
Why does Chad Johnson never practice on Thursday? I may be wrong, butit seems like every thursday you give the injury report and every thursday it says Chad did not practice on thursday. Not limited or less than full participation, but he is listed as not participating at all. The first few weeks it was listed as ankle, this week it is knee? What gives? I do not see this on any other team in the league. I always check the injury reports for fantasy league on Fridays and I swear, every Friday there is Chad with a DNP on Thursday.
If this is the case then I think things are really bad down there, maybe worse then I spew about on here. I wonder how Chad's days off sits with his teammates?
