Starting vets come back

Defensive tackle John Thornton, who had missed the previous two games with a neck stinger, and starting tight end Reggie Kelly are back on the practice field this morning for the Bengals.

Kelly was inactive Sunday at Baltimore after suffering a knee injury the week before at Buffalo.

But safety Herana-Daze Jones, a key special teams player, was not practicing because of an ongoing knee problem.

The 3-6 Bengals will play the 4-5 Arizona Cardinals Sunday at 1 p.m. at Paul Brown Stadium.

UPDATED: Head coach Marvin Lewis said safeties Madieu Williams (foot) and Herana-Daze Jones (knee) did not practice today but would be on the practice field Thursday.

Right tackle Willie Anderson did not practice and is expected to be out Sunday.

Running back Chris Perry remains on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list for the week, Lewis said. Don't look for Perry to play Sunday.

It will be good to have Kelly back, but does anyone really care if Thorton is back (or on the team for that matter). I say keep it Smith, Peko, Robinson and Geathers up front. They got it done last week, give them a shot to get it done this week.

Geathers hasn't played DE for 3 weeks. It was Smith, Peko, Myers, Robinson up front. T

No, Geathers was back at DE. Jeanty played at Geathers' OLB spot.

Robert G. did start at D-End against the Ravens. The commentators mentioned Marvin was glad to have him back at End to rush the passer because they have been missing that element since they moved him.

I agree that Thornton should not start because he doesn't do anything when he's in there. I want to see the young guys (Rucker, Fanene, White, and Nduwke) play more.

Does anyone care that Ratliff was picked up by the Jaguars? Yeah, that’s what I thought…

Chris, check your information... Jeanty, Johnson and Jones were the starting LB's for the Baltimore game... NOT Geathers. Geathers had a hand on the ground most of the game.

Plz put Thorton on IR!!! He stinks. Infact since we won't resign Smith, Thorton, Robinson, M Williams, Dexter Jackson can we plz just let Rucker, Fanene, White and Cheni start the rest of the year. If the coaches wonder if the guys might be out of postion or mess up then that argument means they are mental!!!

While I am reluctant to check up any longer on this mess of a franchise it certainly must be a slow death to have to continue a blog to no where...they have stopped caring why should anyone else.

At least you have injuries and recoveries to report...plenty of that to get bumped about.

Geathers definitely played end most of the game. He almost sacked McNair on a rollout from that position. Watch the film!!!

Right my receiving corp in preference of skills:

TJ
Henry
Chad

I think Chad is distracted with him giving too much attention on his side antics. He knows it gets him to be talked about by media sports pundits. Thas boosts his ego. But Chad that's not your job enough of Me me me..play some football and catch the ball. I got my eye on you bro!!

Yep, TJ & Henry are the best two receivers on the team, no doubt!

And Henry is only getting better, while Chad apparently is getting worse quickly...

Why? Who knows? And who cares?
He's lost a lot of good will in this town. It turned out that humor and losing don't go together, who would have thunk it?
