Graham has record 7 field goals

BALTIMORE -- Shayne Graham has kicked seven short field goals – from 34, 19, 22, 35 yards (twice), 21 and 33 yards – which has been more than enough against an error-prone Baltimore offense that lost three offensive fumbles and threw an interception in the end zone.

The Ravens also muffed a fourth-quarter kickoff that the Marvin White recovered on the Baltimore 11-yard line.

Graham’s seven field goals are a single-game team record, breaking the mark set previously Nov. 6, 1994 by Doug Pelfrey in a 20-17 overtime victory at Seattle.

Graham’s seven field goals gives him a franchise record 19 consecutive made, breaking his previous mark of 17.

He has missed only once this season, in his first attempt from 53 yards in the first game.
Graham is 19 for 20 on field goal this season and leads the Bengals with 81 points.

The problem here is the Bengals offense can't score a touchdown because the offensive coordinator can't call the right plays. At 15-0, Bengals recover the kick off inside the Ravens 20. So what do they call? A running play. WHY? WHY? WHY? Why can't they go for the throat, throw the first play into the end zone for a TD. If that doesn't work, then run. Why does the Bengals do this? Offensive coordinator. That's why. Bengals need a new coordinator. Bengals need to stop being so nice. If the tables were turned, I guarantee any other team would run up the score. If I were Marvin Lewis, I'd be looking for a new coordinator. Ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh by the way, Bengals need a new defensive coordinator also. The talent is there, just coaching is no good. C'mon Mike Brown, you don't want a GM but you got to make a decision sometime soon to make some major changes in coaching staff. Lewis needs to stay - new offensive and defensive coords. Let's go!!

Now it's the offense that can't score a TD in the red zone! Nothing ever works together. A great quarterback, four good receivers and no TD's. Unbelieveable!

Actually, they had a TD to Chad early on...He was wide open and Palmer missed him...While I am one that agrees that Chad needs to straighten his act up at times, Palmer needs to play a lot better than that...He threw some very bad balls inside the 20's today...

Why can't Carson hang on to the ball anymore? WHY?

Too many post knee-repair fumbles.

What is the story?

If we could only play 16 games against the Jets and Ravens...

But Ndukewe and Hall are making the draft gurus look at least a little better. Nice game for those two...

Well, it's nice to see the Bengals play four quarters. They didn't even play four quarters against the Ravens on opening night or against the Jets...but tonight, they all kept playing....still an undisciplined team with a lousy offensive coordinator (he should be fired before the Arizona game) but at least for a week, a lack of aggravation for the fans.

Now if we can beat Arizona...4-6 exceeds the new low low expectations...

problem is and remains to be that they have not established a steady running game. We need more of Kenny Watson and less of Rudi. If he's still hurt, than get him off the field. If he's not, than get him off the field. He's running soft and tentative and cannot or will not make a cut. it looks like his heart just isn't in it and we cannot afford to have a 1/2 ass player making that much money

Please tell me it was just my imagination that Blue Adams was guilty of YET ANOTHER major personal foul on special teams.

How many is that for him this year, five, six? He's not that good, why does Marvin tolerate this?

1) Rudi had good intentions with trying to get leaner and quicker, but it has failed. He needs some cheeseburgers and chili cheese fries, STAT!! He can eat and live healthier after his career is over. Right now, it IS over. 2) Why didn't the Bengals go for the TD on the 4th and goal when we were within two yards - reminds me of the "play to not lose" mentality that got them beat a few weeks ago in a similar situation. "Play to win!!". 3) Graham should have been given the shot at an eighth field goal at the end. It would have been a long one, but well within his range. We had the timeouts to manage the clock. Run it down to three seconds, send him out, see what he can do. Score as many points as you can, and try to help guys set records in the process. 4) The defense only looked good because it was against a worn-out McNair. We are lucky they stuck with him as long as they did. Boller might not be a great QB, but he ran the drive for their only TD. He would have had more given more time.

Someone needs to slap me in the face! I was so excited to see the Bengals win I was jumping up and down on my sofa yesterday. Then I realized that the Bengals couldn't score a touchdown against the Raisens. Did you see them play the Steelers last Monday? Same terrible offense but the Steelers ran up the score and actually got in the pretty painted end zone (so many wonderful colors it makes Bob Ross smile). Bengals are still terrible. Now we have to be pecked to death by a little red freindly bird on Sunday.. Jamal Lewis will wake up early and eat the Bengal worm as he runs silly, silly up and down the field like he normally does against the Bengals.. Who Dey? Jamal Lewis that's who. Horrible! I'm so embarrased to be a Cincinnatian, I'm moving to Dayton!

Pathetic play-calling in the red zone. I guess the Bengals feel confident enough to sit on 6-0, 9-0, 12-0, etc. leads with their solid defense. Run, run, run? When a good portion of the game you had negative yardage running the ball? Bad enough we have trouble scoring, why now not even try?

You can't even enjoy a Bengals win, because of all of you pathetic life-hating whiners on this blog. Always negative! Shut up already!

It's sorry excuses for thick and thin fans like yourself who have made it difficult to enjoy just a simple win, regardless of how it came. Instead, all of you want to be armchair quarterbacks.

Maybe each of you should go on the field and perform the very actions that you suggest that the players should do. That will never happen, because you would probably get your blocks knocked off.

Move from the city and go support another team if you are this unhappy, because it probably would be the best thing for you and the true fans here not to hear your negative mouths. Again, just shut up already!

The game was nationally televised so I had to watch it. The defense actually stepped up and played pretty well. It's about time we saw Fanene, Rucker, White, ?Ndukwe? in the game. I don't understand why we draft guys (M. Askew) and never play them? If they are on the payroll then they should get a shot to play.

I'm the biggest Palmer fan and supporter but he needs to step up. He's not a rookie and he needs to work on his game. His passing this year has been erratic at times. He overthrows everyone but Chris Henry. Is it just a height thing that's causing his inaccuracy? He should have hit Chad on that pass in the end zone. This year he has also been putting the receivers in compromising situations where they get laid out. Step up Palmer; we know you have the talent to. Do they practice passing? Maybe he needs to cut back on all that hunting and focus more on putting in extra time on the practice field.

Dumbkowski's play calling is a joke. Now the offense can't score in the red zone? Come on, with all those playmakers on O? He needs to be more creative with his play calling because it is dull, lame, and predictable. 6-7 years as the coordinator and he is still calling the same predictable plays. If we line up in the I formation it's a pass. Throw the ball to the running back and fullback more fool! J. Johnson is the second highest paid fullback in the NFL. Give the guy a chance to make plays! He's athletic enough!! Roll Carson out more Dumbkowski!!! Put him in the shotgun more. He doesn't have to take a 7 step drop on every play!!!! Teams are blitzing him and he needs to get the ball out quicker. The receiver's don't need to run 20 yard routes on every play also???!!! His Red zone play calling was horrendous yesterday.

Thank God for the Ravens or the Bungles would be 1-8, not 3-6. Arizona has a much better offense than Baltimore so the Bengals need to score touchdowns! This going for field goals when it's 4th and goal is ridiculous!!! Not going to win many more games with that strategy unless you have a great defense (which they don't).

Then again, if they lose many more they will have a high draft pick so they can select another running back (see Chris Perry & Kenny Irons). How's that working out Marvin??

Each of these "meaningless" wins worsens our ("the fans") cause. In additioan, each win costs the Bengals 2-3 draft spots.

Hello people,

The ravens have a good defense, even without their starting dbs, which is why we couldn't score. Carson was pressured all day, which is why he overthrew his receivers. Our defense is depleted, which is why it sucks. Our Offensive Coordinator and starting defense isn't to blame. Quit whining like you know what you're talking about. Just sit back and enjoy the games...or can you? You probably scream at the walls in your house when you're alone. WHO DEY!!!!!!!

Hello people,

The ravens have a good defense.

Say What??? The Ravens are the Over the Hill Gang. Cinci put 27 on them the opening game. The only game which they held opponents to single digits was the Rams w/o Bulger and the 49ers without Alex Smith. The Bengals offense is stagnant right now. And can people stop with the WHO DEY. You should be at least a .500 team to even consider such a thing ..and thats pushing it.

I agree with 2:22

NO MORE WHO DEY!!!

It's embarrasing! sounds like we're a bunch of hicks with missing front teeth. I think we should come up with a catchphrase that bolsters Cincinnati's image with Procter and Gamble. How about: "Clean 'em Up" since P+G has so many cleaning products on the market.

"Clean 'em Up Bengal's, Clean 'em Up!"

at 11/13/2007 5:12 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yeah, if you're into lace and bunny slippers and mascara, Clean 'em up works real well. You go with that. And wear a bottle of tide over your head at the AZ game this weekend too, okay?

Who Dey think gonna edit dem Bengal cheers?

I like the Tide bottle hat idea. Much like the cheese hats in Green Bay. What a wonderful marketing opportunity for P+G. Just a little promotional push and they can have free advertising for years to come.

As far as the makeup comment goes.. the Bengals are playing like sissy's anyway so a little blush will be perfect for them.
smooch XOXO
