Linebacker Frazier waived

The Bengals this afternoon announced they have waived linebacker Andre Frazier. He played in the first two games and had two total tackles on special teams.

No replacement has been announced for Frazier's spot on the 53-man roster.

Former Miami University linebacker Terna Nande and Kevis Coley, a linebacker from Southern Mississippi, had tryouts.

The Bengals had a visit this week from former Giants and Eagles linebacker Dhani Jones.

Finally..Frazier was a big reason why the defense lapsed so badly against Cleveland. That and the 2 offensive turnovers. Maybe we should cut Palmer and Rudi Johnson next...

For all of you doubters who said the Bengals wouldn't make any defensive changes after the Cleveland loss.....

Rich hardly a noteworthy or impacting defensive move. I am sure if Mark reported that Marvin had a loose stool you would be on this board talking about how Marvin is making changes to his diet and it should count for something.

What's with Lewis and firing Fraziers when the defense goes bad?

Bresnahan, Marvin, the correct name this time is Bresnahan.

Fire Breshnahan. Get someone who can manage a damn clock ALL 4 QUARTERS. This team is so sloppily coached, I wouldn't mind seeing the entire staff replaced. 6-10 season ahead if no coaching changes are made.

Let me begin this by saying that I'm not a native of SW Ohio, and a GB Packers fan first and foremost, but can someone on this board PLEASE explain to me why, and how, the Bengals players and fans talk about their team as a perennial Super Bowl contender, when under Marvin Lewis they've had one winning season, and played in one playoff game??

I think a more honest view of the Bengals would see them as a seriously flawed team (with the same weaknesses every year under Lewis), with a grossly overrated head coach.

O-k is this supposed to be the fix for the "D" or what? I think the "D" is going to come out with so much emotion this Sunday that they will lookl like they did in the Ravens game. But how do they get up for New England? I feel uneasy :(

All we've heard from Bengals' brass and the media since Frazier got here was that he was sooo great at special teams. Now that special teams are even weaker than the defense, they cut an experienced special teams guy!?! This organization is still very poorly run and is far from a Super Bowl contender.

Al in Ohio has it right. Bengals fans who imagine this team will ever be a Super Bowl contender with it's 30th ranked defense every year are living in loony fantasy land.

Marvin Lewis is incredibly overrated, based on his one winning season. He's mediocre, which by Bengals standards is Hall of Fame. But no way is this team ever reaching the Super Bowl! After five years of Marvin Lewis the defense is just as horrible as it has ever been.

Instead of the movie "Groundhog Day" they should call it "Bengals Day".

Mike Brown doesn't care. The stadium is full and the jerseys are selling.

How does Bresnahan still have a job??????

His defenses have been in the bottom handful for more than 2 years. Under what criteria is he being evaluated?

Oh it was his fault we gave up 51.
See Marvin, we DO understand!

Dhani Jones. This guy got cut by two 0-2 NFC teams this offseason (Philly and New Orleans). The Saints kept Brian Simmons over him. This is going to help fix some holes in the Defense?

They can waive all the players they want it's not going to change their awful defesive scheme. Chuck is the problem, he doesn't change his blitz packages every week. He just sends the same packages every week. It is the NFL the players are there for a reason. Fire Chuck!

Getting rid of Brian Simmons and Kevin Kaesviharn looks pretty bad in hindsight, and I still don't understand why the Bengals didn't try to get Lance Briggs from the Bears when Briggs wanted out of Chicago.

marvin lewis is a great coach, he took a franchise from 2-14 to 8-8 last couple of years. there defense needs new schemes and plays. there offense is as good if not better than most in the league.(except the pats, and colts.) there d will come around in a couple games though.
