Palmer on shoulder: `Everything's fine.'

A pro football Web site is reporting a rumor that Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer injured his throwing shoulder in the Monday night game, possibly his rotator cuff, and was undergoing tests.

I asked Palmer a few minutes ago if the rumor was true. He said, "No. Everything's fine."

Palmer was outside for practice this afternoon. He was listed as probable on the official post-practice injury report as probable with a shoulder injury. He did not participate in the 11-on-11 team session of practice.

Palmer is expected to practice Thursday, Bengals public relations director Jack Brennan said at 3:45 this afternoon.

"He was rested today and is expected to fully participate (Thursday)," Brennan said. "The coaches and trainers (say) he came out of the Indianapolis game with a sore shoulder. Any reports of a serious structural injury are unfounded."

Why does anyone in the Cincinnati media even acknowledge the morons that run prowrestl, i mean profootballtalk.com. Its nothing more than a wrestling rumors site that talks about football instead of wrestling. They make up the news and delight when mainstream media people cite them as a reliable source.

Weren't you burned bad enough last year with the Chad Johnson fighting in the locker room "story"?

But for this website, we would not have even heard about Carson's sore shoulder. Makes sense based on how poorly he played Mon night. This could be a nagging problem.

I believe Profootballtalk.com were the first people to break the Odell Thurman 4 game suspension story. On the other hand they also said that David Pollack broke his leg in the offseason playing a pick up basketball game.

He only played poorly because Freeney and Mathis were being "blocked" (I use that term loosely here) by backups who permitted him NO time to throw and continually the pass rush to get into him. He's fine.

Frankly, I'm more concerned about #85. That guy looked comatose from the git-go Monday night. Drop after drop, no emotion and IVs. What's up with that?

Here's further proof that what Scott Evans said is correct:

from the website in question:
"TESTS NEGATIVE ON PALMER'S SHOULDER

A league source tells us that the recent tests on the shoulder of Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer were negative. Which is positive.

But the source also tells us that there's still a feeling that "something is amiss," and we're still trying to track down more information.

Meanwhile, Palmer himself said Thursday on The Dan Patrick Show that the shoulder is fine, and the host, SeƱor Patrick, mentioned this here site at least seven times in teasing the Palmer interview.

And, as it turns out, our report created quite a stir. When we arrived in Columbus on Thursday night we saw that the site was mentioned in the local paper (and several others this week), and wagering on Sunday's Bengals-Broncos game temporarily was suspended based on the news that Palmer might have a serious injury."

Sounds like they are more excited about being mentioned as a source by "real" journalists than reporting the truth. Pathetic...

Hey Scott....Profootballtalk was correct on the chad johnson halftime fight last year.
Remember when Marv later said "he would find the guy who leaked us info".
