Pollack active, but Landon Johnson to start

By Mark Curnutte
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Landon Johnson started at strong-side linebacker in place of David Pollack today against the Indianapolis Colts.
Pollack was active for the first time since injuring his knee in the Pittsburgh game Oct. 23. The start was the seventh for Johnson, who entered fifth on the team with 42 total tackles (30 solo tackles).
Pollack has two starts in seven appearances. He came in with 18 total tackles and one sack.

CROSS-POLLINATION: Bengals defensive coordinator Chuck Bresnahan, who was Colts linebackers coach in 1996 and 1997, greeted Colts president Bill Polian before the game on the field.
Leslie Frazier, former Bengals defensive coordinator, is now a defensive assistant working with the Colts defensive backs.

INACTIVES: Bengals cornerback Rashad Bauman, added to the injury report as questionable Saturday with a – injury, was one of the team’s inactive players Sunday.
The other inactive players for the Bengals were fullback Nick Luchey, defensive linemen Shaun Smith, Jonathan Fanene and Matthias Askew, wide receiver Kelley Washington and linebacker Larry Stevens.
Caleb Miller, who had been on the physically unable to perform list with an ankle injury, was active Sunday. It was his first appearance of the season.
Craig Krenzel was the third quarterback for the Bengals, but Indianapolis does not use a third quarterback. Its inactive players were running backs Kory Chapman and Ran Carthon, offensive tackle Kurt Vollers, tight end Ben Hartsock, wide receiver Aaron Moorehead, defensive linemen Josh Thomas and Darrell Reid and linebacker Rob Morris.

I thought the Bengals played fairly well this past weekend. The were in the game until the very end. A break or two, like the Rhodes kickoff return fumble, making the fourth and 1 or kicking that field goal, or a pass interference call on the other 4 and short and the Bengals would of been right there. OK, enough of my ifs, ands, & buts.
I only wish the defense would of played a little better and dropped 7 to make Edge beat us instead of Peyton. Live and learn. The Bengals are growing and in the right direction.
WHO-DEY!
