Unofficial draft order

MIAMI -- The NFL doesn't have the official draft order available tonight, but the Bengals are one among the glut of seven teams that finished with 7-9 records.

1. Miami, 1-15
2. St. Louis, 3-13
3. Oakland, Jets, Kansas City, Atlanta, 4-12
7. Baltimore, San Francisco, 5-11
9. Bengals, Detroit, Chicago, Denver, New Orleans, Carolina, Buffalo, 7-9

The tiebreaker for draft order is strength of schedule.

cbs sportsline has the SOS posted prior to this weeks game. The Dolphins 1-15 had to let the Bengals coast in at #9 past the Saints.

Can we PLEASE draft LBs and Linemen EXCLUSIVELY? PLEASE? No RBs or WRs need be taken in 2008. How about:

LB
OL
DL
LB
OL
LB
DL

for our first seven picks?

Bengals pick 9th.

8 teams had worse records.

Of the 7-9 teams, the Bengals opponents record is easiest at 117-138.

The rest of the 7-9 teams:

New Orleans 123-133
Buffalo 132-124
Denver 132-124
Carolina 134-122
Detroit 139-117
Chicago 139-117

The Indy - Tennessee game is still being played and not included but won't change the Bengals position no matter who wins.

Mr Curnutte are you stupid or just lazy.I am a friend of Jerry Jones of the Drug Store List and fairly knowledgeable, just add each teams opponents wins and the team with the lowest wins by their opponents goes first in the draft.Bengals win all tie breakers except with New Orleans. sloppy journalism

It appears as if the Bengals would be 9 or 10 based on those teams. Their SOS (strength of schedule) was less than all of the other 7-9 teams except New Orleans. It appears as if the lower SOS goes first. I am not sure if my SOS figures will change very much after the final weeks games are added in.

Cincy SOS: .484
NO SOS: .480

Everyone else is over .500.

Bengals should go 10th. Only Buffalo had a harder SOS according to ESPN.

Sorry I meant 14th not 10th. Man I wished we picked 10th...

Bengals will be first out of all those teams b/c they had the weakest schedule (by a lot) this year. Kind of scary, but great for draft day!

Does that mean the weakest schedule picks first, or the strongest. I'd assume it's the weakest, but you know what they say about assuming...

Mark,

I believe you're mistaken when it comes to draft order tie-breaking procedures. The Bengals had the lowest strength of schedule percentage of the seven teams with a 7-9 record. The NFL gives the higher selection (#9) to the team with the lower strength of schedule.

The Bengals Offense and Defense are Stale. They need new Coordinators, to bring life to an underperforming group.

The Play Calling is very predictable. I guess when Palmer checks-off at the line, 75% plus of the time a run follows. Very predictable.

And if only the passing game is working than stay with the passing game, until they stop it. Too many times the Bangals were 2nd and 3rd and long yardage to go becuase their 1st down run play failed.

After Ocho's performance in hometown Miami, do you think "The Big Tuna" would be interested in bringing 85 home for the 33rd pick?

Bengals will end up with Laurinaitis, Ellis or Gholston. The rest of the defense (outside of the secondary) falls off a ton after that.

Are you kidding? Marvin & Co. DOES NOT draft Buckeyes!! They've let too many good players from THEE Ohio State University go by!!!!

The 1st draft choice should be a defensive coordinator.
The 2nd draft choice should be an offensive coordinator

As for Bengals drafting Buckeyes, lets take a look at what they got from OSU. Pete Johnson, need some dope buddy. Archie Griffin, two time Hiesman my A$$ that couldn't make it in the Pros. Big Daddy Wilkerson, too fat and lazy to tie his own shoes. If they draft more from OSU expect the same gangsters we have gotten over the past few years. OSU is a very undisciplined team and it will all come out sooner or later.
