Chad gets franchise record, Bengals 35-17

MIAMI -- Chad Johnson's four receptions for 131 yards give him a single-season franchise record of 1,440 yards, breaking his previous mark of 1,432 in 2005.

The Bengals and Dolphins traded 2-yard touchdown runs. First, Miami quarterback John Beck ran in from 2. Then Kenny Watson ran in from the 2 on a quick Bengals touchdown drive.

Watson has 48 yards rushing on 16 carries, including his seventh rush touchdown.

There are 10:03 remaining in the game.

With an 18-point advantage, the Bengals have scored 377 points this season and allowed 377 points.

How does the coach reconcile his diatribe about selfishness with the blatant attempts to get one of his players the NFL receptions title completely out of the context of the flow of the game? Is anyone else tired of seeing the coach say one thing and do another over and over and over again?

And on that note, how about a coach who has been here for five years and have unprecedented control of how a roster is built, and then he rips the team in his end-of-season comments? How is all of the stuff he's saying about his players not a complete reflection on him as a coach? It's not like he's talking about what he encountered after his first or second year. If his team is not cutting it on so many levels, how is this not a total indictment of the coach and his staff? A real front office (not the total farce of one that Cincy has) would read those comments and fire Lewis and his complete staff after reading what amounts to an admission that they have utterly failed.

I predicted the Bengals would go 6-10 this year. Had I known the schedule would have been this easy I would have said 9-7. Looking at next years schedule I'm going with 5-11 at this point. I'm sure the Bengals will make no moves in free agency that matter and will draft an OT with their 1st Pick in the draft. Thanks goes out to K Ratliff, Caleb, C Perry, Henry & Ahmad for their great seasons.

Once again, brilliant comments by brilliant fans! Yes, the team needs to dump some people -- it's just too bad it can't start with all of these pathetic "fans."

I think I heard Keith Olbermann say Palmer finally had his breakout game this season. Ouch! But true. He's got his confidence up and hitting on all cylinders for the off season.

I have to agree that you CAN NOT blame the fans. The fans voted to build a new stadium with new luxury boxes and the fans have bought the tickets to sell out the games. It does no good to say a 7-9 season is better than a 3-13 season. Neither one gets you to the playoffs. Sometimes a team needs to make another step. A coach gets you to .500. It sometimes takes a different coach to get over the hump to build a championship team with a championship attitude.
