A look at 49ers game

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Bengals should win back-to-back games for the first time this season, well, since Nov. 30, 2006 (13-7 over Baltimore) and Dec. 10 (27-10 over Oakland).

Bengals 27, 49ers 14

The 49ers offense shouldn't put up much of a challenge, except for tailback Frank Gore.

Cincinnati is 5-11 over the course of what would be a 16-game schedule since defeating the Raiders last December at home.

Hey Mark, you are in a much better position to give Mikey and Marvy a message for me since I am a the only wallowing Bungle fan here in New Orleans; please tell them thanks for another year of not being in Superbowl contention and for not really being a competetive team. I say Superbowl contending because if we only reach for the playoffs then we set the bar really low. In this league, no one cares if you make the playoffs, it's about winning the Superbowl. Thanks again Mikey and Marvy for another subpar year.

The continued extrapolation of the bengals record over the past 16 games is one of the dumbest frequently repeated stats I've heard this year. Yes, they lost their last three games last year, we get it. However given that it has little to do with this season, it's a pointless thing to bring up. If they finish the year 4-0, will we be happy next year if they are 4-8 after 12 games? Will the press be sure to point out that the bengals have been playing .500 football since December 3rd of 2007?

Way to go Kreskin.

The Bengals stink. Marvin should be fired. And the league should force Mike Brown to sell the team and take his nepotism act elsewhere.

100% CORRECT!!!

I agree...please stop. A season is a season. Find some other way to take your shots. Isn't there enough for you to write about without that hackneyed stuff?

Even if you get bored describing the bad, you can always fall back on writing about an altercation with a parking lot attendant like it was the St. Valentines Day Massacre.

The team is almost as bad as Mark Curnutte's record in picking football games.

I'd like a re-cap of that record please. For this year, AND the last 16 games.

Forget classifying the team as "The Bungels", they've earned a more ho-hum term of the "Bengalzzzz". Their offensive play sure has put me to sleep. The win against St. Louis was underwhelming to say the least and it carried right over to San Francisco except this time, the defense decided to join in. Where's any excitement and creativity? The annoucers, especially Marshall Faulk, were calling plays when they broke the huddle with high accuracy. Brian Gumble was giving accolades to SF QB Shaun Hill while Deion Sanders left "dissing" reminders that "it is only the Bengals they are playing. It's up to coaching to spice things up on both sides of the ball and change the tune fo the action. GET TO IT!!!

Typical Who dey heads-
If you are talking about playoff chances, the draft, or this season, then it is fitting to only cite this season's record you idiots.
But if you are describing the woeful slide of a team over a period of time, then you need to illustrate that slide. If we are talking about the franchise slide starting three years ago, then this season's schedule wouldn't matter right? If you are talking about how bad this franchise has been over its history, then this season's record wouldn't matter either.
I think Mark and everyone lese who can make the correlation between a slide that started last year, the year before etc, is showing just how wise a fan they really are, and those who are bothered by this are just trying to kill the messengers.
get your heads out of the sand (or your ass) and get a clue, this team sucks, this franchise is ome of the worst three in modern NFL history, and you keep going back to it like lemmings.
By the way, last year I was 250 pounds, I lost weight but I am only counting the weight I have taken off this year.
3S- Stay Stoopid Sincy!
