Wilkins signs with Falcons for three years
The Bengals have lost one of their top special teams players. Linebacker Marcus Wilkins signed a three-year contract worth $3 million, including a $500,000 signing bonus, with the Atlanta Falcons. Agent Mark Mersel said Wilkins had other visits set up but that the Falcons' offer was too good to pass up.
"They consider him a star special teams player, and they want to give him the opportunity to play a lot of defense," Mersel said.

"This might be it for me as a Bengals fan. I've loyally followed this team since 1974 and can only take so much. After reading today that Mike brown and company could have re-signed Marcus Wilkins for $1 million per season and still didn't I know this franchise is going nowhere. Mark my words we will regret losing Marcus Wilkins bigtime."
Go away, complainer!!
Hey loser you posted the exact some message yesterday under the Steinbach post. The only things you changed were the player name and dollar amount.
The Bengals are going nowhere because they did not sign back a special teams player? Are you serious.
The Bengals are a good team. The reason that they missed the mark on Marcus Wilkins is because the did not sign an intellegent, dedicated, loyal backup line backer who performed on special teams by doing his job each time the whisle blew. He also represented the team on and off the field with intergerty and character. That is worth more than $1 million dollars and that is what the Bengals will miss as they continue to build their team.
