WR Chatman out; Pollack, O'Neal questionable

Coach Marvin Lewis this afternoon said that linebacker David Pollack (hamstring) and cornerback Deltha O'Neal (knee) are questionable for the opener Sunday at Kansas City. If O'Neal can't play, rookie Johnathan Joseph would start, Lewis said.

If Pollack is limited, NFL rookie Rashad Jeanty -- a three-year Canadian Football League veteran -- would likely go. Jeanty started at strong-side linebacker in the preseason when Pollack was out.

Lewis did list one player as out: wide receiver Antonio Chatman (groin/pelvis) is out.

Quarterback Carson Palmer this morning said he knee "is a non-factor" heading into the Kansas City game. Palmer had reconstructive knee surgery Jan. 10.

Wide receiver Chad Johnson also unveiled a rubber scalp likeness of his shaved head and blond Mohawk. The headpiece even has a likeness of Johnson's eyebrows. Team officials said the scalp would be available to the Bengals Pro Shop prior to the home opener Sept. 17 against Cleveland. The "Golden Child" scalp, as Johnson calls it, will retail for $30.

Update: Pollack did practice this afternoon. O'Neal did not. Neither defensive tackle Sam Adams nor wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh were on the field for the first 30 minutes of practice.
