It cracks me up when some of these Division II and III kids are brought in.

Jason
Take alook at this list and check out how many players in the Hall of Fame came from Division II and III schools. Some even Junior College. Give these kids a chance. Just because they didn't have thousands of screaming fans and play on CBS doesn't mean they can't play football.
Yeah Jason, don't knock anyone because they didn't go to a big school. Just wait until you see Andy Wellendorf. 6'5", runs a 4.6, and can jump. These guys know how to play the game and that's all that matters.
ESPN's Todd McShay is praising us for our RFA pickups! But.... our 'star' pickup isn't listed above (DE Eric Henderson from Ga Tech)
Hope he actually did (or is going to) sign!
Rick in Boise
I have actually seen Adny play quite a bit.
I have also seen Wellendorf get shutdown before. He is slower than 4.6.
Weird, I go to school with Wellendorf and have seen him play every game the past 2 seasons. Pretty sure I know that he runs a 4.6. And the games he has been shut down were because the o-line was terrible and the quarterbacks were running for their lives.
Oh, one thing you forgot... all those non-Division I guys in the Hall of Fame were from the old days when scouting recruiting was different and most of them were drafted.
None of these guys the Bengals are bringing in stand a chance to crack the roster.
I went to high school with Wyatt Gayer in Indiana. I am so proud of him. We grew up in a small town where not much happens. Having this opportunity is an incredible thing for Wyatt and his hometown. We are all behind you Wyatt! Good Luck!!
cincikid,
Just wait and see, none of them will make the roster. I GUARANTEE IT!
And as for your list:
A. Randy Moss is DI. He went to FSU and got kicked out, so can remove him.
B. ALL of those guys were drafted.
C. Where are your DII players???
To the others,
I know you think your local town/college team stars are good, but that aren't that good. I love watching college football and go to a ton of games DI, DII and DII. You can clearly see the talent difference between a Thomas More or MSJ and a team like UC. You can also see the difference between a UC and a OSU.
Bottom line, the DII and DII kids a all really long shots.
i worked at biggs with andy... i never saw him play... but i have talked to him several times about playing pro ball and he told me he doesnt care where he ends up as long as he gets to play football... he also teaches little kids how to play sports and such... already thats something teams should like for in a player along with a physical ability to play the game... he has an ability to help out the community... it would be great to se ehim get picked up by an nfl team... with the presence of chris henry the bengals need a rookie who will be a positive impact to the community not just on the field...
All great NFL players have great nicknames... my mayne man Andy Wellendorf... Dorf... is no different... he played at the hailed Elder High in Cincinnati, has caught many a touchdown passes at Paul Brown Stadium... as the mighty panthers were the first cincinnati team to win in Paul Brown... back in 2000 I believe... we might need to find the exact stat but if memory serves... he caught 4 td's on that field... more than TJ has had playing there for 6 seasons...
Problem #1 - He is from Elder, sure to be a flop. Elder is so overrated.
andy wellendorf is a pimp and is going pro no doubt about it! elder back to back state champs, overrated, what?
The fact that some of you know who these chumps are is very sad. None will make the team! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!
jerry rice d2 quarterback .... now nfls greatest reciever of all time enough said
