what about antonio pittman? where did he end up?
The Rams got him. The Bengals tries but the Rams had first dibs.
Just wanted to say that if Mark "Can Not" wants to see how to write a blog to check out the bearcats blog written by Josh something. It gives in depth behind the scene information that a fan wants. It is really not exciting to go to the Bengals blog and read the same stuff I can read on the website or any press relesae.
Does anyone have info on this Dawson RB? What is his story. Also, do the Colts have any other RB other than Addai?
JimmyD - Dawson's a rookie out of Harvard. The Drugstore List has him at 5 ft 10 in, 212, with OK speed (4.54 forty) and projected him (correctly) as a free agent. Per Wikipedia, he's the all-time Ivy League career rushing leader (4841) going >1000 all 4 yrs. Can also catch a ball. Notable stat (per Harvard web site): in >800 touches over the last 3 yrs at Harvard, did not fumble once.
Dawson was in the running for the 2nd RB position along with DeDe Dorsey and Keith Kenton. Kenton appears to have secured the position after DeDe Dorsey was released and Dawson was picked up off waivers by the Bengals. Dawson was seen by most experts as a "surprise of camp" and "the dark horse" for the active spot on the Colts roster. The Colts were hoping to sneak him through waivers and sign him to the practice squad. Dawson very well could have proclaimed the position had he not had a mild ankle sprain and was held out of the final preseason game. I don't think that he is on the same talent and prospect level of a healthy Chris Perry or a Kenny Irons, but it being a cut casualty a week before the season opener it was a nice pick up. I would have rather they traded a 7th rounder for the likes of Pittman RB Ohio State but it would have cost alot more too. Pittman did sign a 3 yr. deal before getting cut. Dawson was a undrafted rookie. Dawson is the second Ivy League acquisition is as many days. Both from Harvard. Mike Brown and his daughter are also Ivy League grads. It's a good day, in my opinion, when the Bengals replace the likes of McNeal with less talented and less troubled Ivy Leaguer. Unless there is a DUI Checkpoint on the outside of the Library!
Who cares about Pittman or any other OSU player...this is Cincinnati, not Columbus. And yes, this blog is aweful.
I think the Bengals were hoping (counting on) Pierre Thomas being cut by the Saints. He was very impressive in the last exhib. game and was consudered better than Pittman.
None of the fee agent signees made the 53 man roster. The Bengals hope some of their injuries heal fast and did not put them on IR. I don't see them scoring enough points to overcome a poor defense.
I think anything over an 8-8 season would be a plus. The schedule, thank God, appears not as tough as last year.
FYI, the guy's name is Kenton Keith, not Keith Kenton.
