I see the Bengals drafting Texas safety Michael Griffin at No. 18 overall in the first round.
I talked to a couple of additional sources late this afternoon, and Michigan defensive tackle Alan Branch is no longer on the team's radar.

I still see them taking Beason - but any of the names mentioned will help.
Looking at the Akili Smith article in the CFL - the Pitts Steelers second round pick Jackson signed too - he had a brief career also.
Shows what a gamble the draft is, and how expecting it to cure all your ills is far from guaranteed.
