Hall: `Not disappointed'

Leon Hall said he talked with wide receiver Chad Johnson when he visited with the Bengals earlier this month.

"He told me he had a pair of cleats here waiting for me," Hall said on a conference call with Cincinnati media shortly after he was drafted No. 18 overall by the Bengals.

Johnson had some fresh meat to work with last year, too, when the Bengals used their first-round pick, No. 24 overall, on cornerback Johnathan Joseph.

"My dream was always to play in the NFL," Hall said. "I wanted to go as early as possible. I'm good. I'm relieved. I'm happy."

He said he knew a great deal about the Cincinnati offense and recently learned about what the Bengals like to do defensively.

Describing his game, Hall said, "My overall game is good. I am able to play a lot of different coverages. I can play the run. I'm a good character guy ... the people I associate with. I won't be getting in trouble."

Well I might have taken the CB from Texas,Aaron Ross, as I absolutely hate the scum from up North but overall I guess this dog will hunt. I think he was projected as a higher draft pick so I believe the Bengals got a good value.....hopefully there will be a good LB or Safety when the Bengals pick in round 2.....Go Bengals !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being a character guy is part of his game?

Thanks but no thanks. Players are what we need. Not convicts OR saints.

Hall getting burned against elite players is not a good sign, considering everyone in the NFL is an elite player.

It sickened me to see Car and Jax trade down, and then get Beason and Nelson, either of which would've helped next year's team as much if not more than Hall.

Hall is a character guy. Big deal. Looks like we, as fans, are going to pay for the sins of his fathers (aka the players who have come before him and screwed up.)

The fact that Chris Mortenson said the statement "Cincinnati could not have taken him" in regard to Brandon Meriweather shows us the truth, that the conduct of Marvin's Malcontents not only hurt last year's team, but will hurt us in the future when how much of an angel the guy is off the field will lead to the team taking players who might be lesser thans ON it.

Look at the facts, Hall "slipped" and not because of character, but because of talent. This is what we get. He has bust written all over him.

I'm not going to be so quick to judge, as Antonio. It's just funny that Hall mentioned that the people that he associates himself with is of high character. In Cinci, all he needs to do is go out to eat with some of his co-workers and fail to use his turn signal with when driving around. As for on the field, I'm sure that he may turn out better than James did last season.

Hall is a player. Most people focus on two plays he was involved in at the end of the season. A touchdown by Ginn in where Ted lined up in a threepoint stance on an unbalanced line and got behind Hall. But in reality how many guys did Ginn behind during his career? The other is with Jarrett in the Rose Bowl, but if you watched the game you would have seen that the play was the product of a broken coverage where he thought he had safety help. For the most part in that game he didn't cover Jarrett, in fact SC threw away from him most of the time. So understand the facts before you get on here and bash Hall because he is from Michigan.
