LB Simmons downgraded to doubtful

The Bengals are likely to be without the services of veteran linebacker Brian Simmons at Baltimore Sunday. He was downgraded today to doubtful with a neck injury.

The good news for the Bengals is that rookie linebacker Rashad Jeanty, out for more than a month with a foot injury, did practice today for the third day in a row and remained probable. Coach Marvin Lewis said Jeanty would play but withheld information whether Jeanty would start.

The only other change for the Bengals on the injury report was the return of rookie cornerback Johnathan Joseph to practice. He remained probable with an ankle injury.

For the Ravens, a pair of key veterans, tight end Todd Heap and punt return specialist B.J. Sams, were upgraded to probable, though neither player practiced.

Defensive end/linebacker Adalius Thomas, probable with a neck injury, returned to practice for the Ravens.

Do you think this will prompt Simmons to retire at the end of the season?
