Central Michigan center is fourth pick

The Bengals selected Central Michigan center Eric Ghiaciuc in the fourth round early this afternoon with the 119th overall.
Ghiacuic started 35 consecutive games for the Mid-American Conference team. He is 6-feet-4, 302 pounds and is noted for his good size and movement skills. Scouts also like his intelligencec, work ethic and character. He had an impressive workout at the combine in February but is a question mark because he has not faced top competition.
The Bengals want to groom Chiaciuc as a replacement to Rich Braham. Braham remains unsigned but is expected to come back for at least one more season as the starter.
The Bengals' next pick, their fifth-rounder, is No. 153 overall.

took a guy in the 4th that was rated as being deafted when Anttaj Hawthorne was still on the board? oy!
I'm sure Marvin Lewis knows a little more about Hawthorne than you....
This pick was a reach, probably based soley on his combine workout. There were better players available at this point in the draft. This guy would have been available in the 6th or 7th round, or even as a free agent.
Sorry, but I don't think this guy would have made past the 4th round. A number of centers went in the 4th and especially 5th round. I saw this guy rated highly before the draft. Also, not that Kiper is any kind of guru, but he had him as the 4th best player overall on the board left when we picked him. We needed a center too, so I say good pick by the Bengals!!
