Palmer plays second series; Bengals up 7-0

INDIANAPOLIS -- An interception in the end zone by Tory James gave the Bengals the ball back on their 20-yard line.

The Colts, by the way, had no starters in the game on offense or defense. Shaun King is playing quarterback for Indianapolis.

With the exception of wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, the starting offensive lineup is on the field for the second series. Chris Henry is playing for Houshmandzadeh.

After Bengals left tackle Levi Jones was called for a false start, tailback Rudi Johnson ran for 14 yards and then 5 yards to give the Bengals the ball on the 34. Then Jones was called for another false start.

Palmer missed his first pass on first and 15 when Chad Johnson dropped a crossing pattern.

Johnson redeemed himself on the next play, catching a 31-yard fly passing down the left sideline to give the Bengals first down on the Indianapolis 40.

Palmer then threw high for Henry on a slant pattern.

Rudi Johnson ran 26 yards to set up a first down on the Colts 14.

Then Palmer threw 14 yards, firing a fastball between defenders, that was caught by Henry for a touchdown.

In two series, Palmer was 4-for-6 passing for 72 yards and one touchdown.

Rudi Johnson has run three times for 45 yards.

Chad Johnson has three receptions 58 yards.

The Bengals drove 80 yards in seven plays for the score in 3:18.
